Posted under by Site Hostess on Thursday 29 October 2009 at 11:27 am

Thank you for your interest in our Author Services at Bitten by Books. We are continually trying to find innovative ways for authors and publishers to promote their books, while ensuring that there’s always something fresh, exciting and meaningful happening to keep the readers coming back.

Events:
Our contests, guest blogs, interviews, release parties, freaky Fridays and authors speak out column are very popular with our readers and offer fun ways for authors to interact with fans and soon-to-be-fans. Best of all, these events are FREE for readers and authors. Space is limited, however, and scheduling is on a first come, first served basis.

Advertising Campaigns:
Our interactive events and honest reviews bring out the most dedicated fans of Paranormal Fiction, Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. We strive to present our readers with advertising that is relevant to their interests and to the spirit of our site, thus adding value for our users and ensuring a good return on investment for our advertisers.

Ads are reserved by calendar month and reservations can be made up to six months in advance. Scheduling is based on the availability of ad slots, and ad prices are locked in for the duration of the campaign.

What authors are saying about their campaigns:

“Bitten by Books is a must-stop spot for me. It is the place to connect with rabid readers of the genre. I see a spike in sales when advertising with Bitten by Books every time, plus Rachel is so easy to work with. It’s a win-win all around.”
New York Times Best Selling Author Angie Fox

“Bitten By Books is such a pleasure to work with. Not only do they put on amazing events that drive sales, their ad department is professional, efficient, and talented! I wouldn’t hesitate a second to advertise with them again.”

“Bitten by Books was fantastic!  They helped design an ad and offered prime placement for advertising.  Friendly and fun, they make it less work and more entertaining.  I will use their services again!”Donald Allen Kirch, author of “Reich,” “Still Waters,” and “Manchester House.”

“I wanted to thank you for designing the terrific ad for the Boyfriend From Hell campaign this past September. The ads running on Bitten By Books were the best ads of my entire campaign.  The placement was excellent. I couldn’t have asked for better. It made me look like a pro having such a good looking ad on such a stunning site as yours.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get this out to you.  My life has been quite hectic since mid-July. But I would be remiss if I didn’t  thank you for helping make the Boyfriend From Hell launch a success.”
Author E. Van Lowe

“Advertising on Bitten By Books was terrific for my book sales! On top of that they did an amazing job at creating my ad for the site. I love meeting professional people that have a way of making you feel like you are talking to a best friend. I would recommend them over and over again!”
Author Elizabeth J. Kolodziej

The monthly ad rates as of June 1st 2011 are as follows:

Run of Site Placements
250×250 “above the fold” med square: $210 for 30 days ($7/day)
120×600 skyscrapers: $105 for 30 days ($3.50/day)
250×250 med squares below the skyscrapers: $105 for 30 days ($3.50/day)
Video Trailer: $105 for 30 days ($3.50/day)
Bottom 728×90 banner: $135 for 30 days ($4.50/day)

Please note that Bitten by Books may sell specific ad placements to multiple advertisers during the same scheduling period. This means that your ad will not generally show up on every page view.

In addition, individual ads will rotate through all of the available ad slots within a placement. For example, if you are paying $105 for one of the 250×250 run-of-site medium square ads below the skyscrapers on the sidebar, your ad will rotate randomly throughout those 2 slots. This ensures that all ads booked into a placement are given equal visibility.

The Fine Print:

SCHEDULING:
Campaigns must be paid for in full at time of scheduling.

EXTENSION:
For all advertisers, ad rates will be locked in from the scheduling date to the last day of the last prepaid month. This means an advertiser with a campaign lasting at least 2 months can extend the current campaign under the same pricing provided at the original scheduling. The duration of the campaign extension can be from 1 to 6 months.

Extension requests must be made at least 30 days prior to the scheduled end of the current campaign. Payments for additional months will continue to be due 10 days prior to the beginning of each month. Pricing for subsequent extensions of an existing campaign will be based on current rates at the time the extension request is made.

Alternatively, advertisers may choose to add one additional campaign using the locked in rates. This option applies to campaigns of any length (even 1 month) and requests for this type of extension may be made at any point prior to the end of the currently scheduled campaign. The duration of the new campaign can be from 1 to 6 months. Scheduling is based on the availability of ad slots.

POSTPONEMENT:
Postponement allows an advertiser to reschedule the remaining scheduled months for a campaign while maintaining the same pricing. Campaigns can be postponed for up to 6 months, and advertisers are eligible for one postponement per campaign. This does not apply to campaigns added as an extension to an existing campaign. Requests for postponement must be made 15 days prior to the end of the current month, and payment for the subsequent months will be due 10 days prior to the date the campaign is scheduled to resume. Postponement scheduling is based on the the availability of ad slots for the adjusted delivery dates.

Please note, all ad funds are NON-Refundable. Advertising pricing, rotation, scheduling and terms can change at anytime without notice to current or pre-paid advertisers.
