I can’t tell you how excited I am to be here chatting with you about my new release, Seducing the Jackal! I really had a lot of fun coming up with the concept of this sexy paranormal series that I’m calling Sons of Anubis.

A lot of people know by now that I’m a big fan of Ancient Egypt. I have tons of research material, knick-knacks and jewelry inspired by that mythical land. There’s just something about the culture that spawned so a rich history, mythology, and art that’s endlessly fascinating to me. (more…)

Q — Debby: If vamps (like Leo Pellissier) and skinwalkers (like Jane Yellowrock) existed, would you want to be one? If yes, which and why?

Debby, I’d be human. I like to write drama, but I don’t like to live drama. And let’s face it – all the nonhumans have such drama! Of course, that’s what makes a good book. I’d be bored fast if I was reading about characters eating at Mickie D’s and typing all day.

Futuredaze: An Anthology of Young Adult Science Fiction is our answer to the lack of short science fiction being published for teens. Fans of YA fantasy, horror, or paranormal romance have been feasting for years on a bounty of literature (and there are obviously some great new YA science fiction novels) but where’s the short SF for young adults? Short science fiction has always been an important breeding ground for new, innovative fiction. This lack is troubling.

Resurrecting Harry: Master Escape Artist Cheats Death

Back in the time Harry Houdini lived, there were numerous headlines about him cheating death. When you first saw that title here, you may have even thought about it in a less than literal way. Maybe you thought this would be a book about the life and times of Harry. Instead, it’s a “what if” scenario
that supposes a world where the “greatest escape artist who ever lived” bargains his way out of the afterworld and back into a brand, new younger body.

Soul Avenged is the first book in the Sons of Wrath series. I’d have to say this was probably one of the most enjoyable stories I’ve written so far (although book two, currently in edits, is proving to be some pretty tough competition). It actually started out as somewhat of a distraction—just a few ideas I’d jotted down here and there—until it eventually snowballed into this entire world, teeming with a variety of supes.

For those who are new to the books, what is your Monster MASH series about?

It’s a new paranormal romance series that takes place in and around an other-worldly MASH unit during a seemingly endless war.
Petra and her colleagues at the MASH 3063rd have been drafted until the end of the conflict, which is bad for Petra but even worse for people like her vampire roommate, Marius. They’re living in this quirky, ad-hock camp, trying to make the best of it while they work long hours in the operating room, putting soldiers back together – knowing that they’re probably going to see these injured heroes again and again – if they’re lucky.

Picture our sexy, vampire heroine, Angyalka, who’s just spent an intriguing hour with insatiably curious convalescent hunter, Istvan (who almost died in Blood Eternal). Finding My Way Into the Between

The first time I noticed a reality problem I was six, and had just had a major tiff with my best friend. We were standing there, both of us in a fist-clenched fury, entrenched in one of those hopeless “I did not, you did too” conversations when the light bulb went on.
