Welcome to the poll of the week!! Polling runs through Sunday, May 4th. FIRST VOTE on the bottom RIGHT HAND SIDE of the site then stop here to tell us “Favorite Shapeshifter Series Round ONE” and why you chose your answers. The only VOTES that count are the ones on the actual poll not the comments! This is a special poll round for the first of three rounds. There will be 32 series for round one and round two next week the other 32. We will have a final round in week three to determine who is the winner from the top FIVE of rounds one and two.
We took the READER nominations from last week, verified them as shifter series, then put into a spreadsheet, sorted alphabetically by series name and then started at the top of the list for this round.
PLEASE NOTE: We can’t add every shifter series out there or this would be the only poll we would have on the site ever again. 
There are HUNDREDS of fantastic series out there now. So, we had to cut some things out due to time and space constraints. Thank you for understanding and remember this is for FUN, it isn’t for a prize or prestige.

I have not actually read most of these- but obviously I have to vote for Jane Yellowrock cuz Jane is the ish, followed by Kate Daniels, & then Dark Kings by Donna Grant (really fun spin off series).
Took my brain to realize yeah Donna Grant’s dark sword highlanders do shapeshift just not into animals but dangerous bad ass gods…
It should be the Dark Kings in the poll but yeah the Highlanders totally shift too…that was my bad this morning!

Ooooh mannnn! You made me have to reallly work for this (yeah yeah I should be writing but I tried, wrote out a basic outline to try out tonight hopefully feeling it)
So I had to decide with Stephanie Tyler’s Eternal Wolf Can, Deborah Cooke’s Dragonfire (hey dragons!) and Donna Grant’s Dark Swords
First Faith Hunter. My definite number one. Next would be the shifters in Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series and third would be Carrie Vaughan’s Kitty series.
My all time favorite is the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter.
My overall favorite of all time has to be the Dragon Knights of Bianca D’Arc, then Dana Marie Bell’s Halle Shifters…picking just three is so difficult, because there are many on the list I love
who could possibly pick a favorite from all of listed.Dragon Fury, Immortals of New Orleans, Bayou Heat, Magnus Pack , Dragon Kin.can’t be done.
Pick only 3?!? (she whines) There are at least 5 or 8 I would love to choose. But since I can’t, I had to go with the Alpha & Omega and Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs and Ashwood Falls by Lia Davis. I love reading all three series and wait eagerly as each new book is released.
I picked Tia Fielding’s Finnshifters, though I’ve been wanting to read the Eve Langlais series…

I LOVE her books…they are great paranormal romance with a lot of humor/laugh out loud moments 
I’ve enjoyed all her books to date. I’d go with her Welcome to Hell series or her Freakn’ Shifters or FUC series (Furry united Coalition series, not swearing! 
) LOL

I picked Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews and Carrie Vaughn because the characters of these authors are fun to read about. When I see a new book being published I get excited to be able to read it. The characters resonate. And, they do not go off in weird directions from book to book in the series. Even if it has been months and months since I read the last one, whenever I pick up one by these authors it is extremely easy to pick up where the last book left off.

Jane Yellowrock by Faith Hunter, without a doubt. Patricia Brigg’s Mercy Thompson series and Sherrilynn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series.
I love finding “new to me” stuff..THANKS! I have some I’m going to check out. But Shelly L.’s shifters have a special place in my heart.Any books that cause soda out the nose syndrome are a fav. I don’t drink anything while I’m reading her stuff.

I voted for KC’s IAD series because her writing is just amazing!! Cynthia Eden’s Bound Series because they are HOT even though their short and her men are sexy Alphas!!
Lia Davis’ Ashwood Falls series because I love those big cat shifters as well as the others.
Jane Yellowrock is awesome! Strong female character, lots of action & a heart & morals I can relate to.
Shelly Laurenston’s Magnus Pack or Pride series. They will make you literally laugh out loud, drool, and howl!

I love the Lora Leigh breed series hot,hot,hot! My other choice was as Smith the Dragon lords of Baldwin, and third is Carrie Vaughan kitty Melville series. All great books, alto you will laugh at a werewolves named kitty. I would recommend these books to anyone.
It is like picking a four legged child. I had to go with Jane Y., Jane T., and Mercy! They were closest to the cursor when I stopped moving the mouse. Runner ups A&O, IAD. and Kate
Definitely SE Smith’s Dragon Lords of Valdier. Love the combo of scifi and shapeshifters.
I have of course several favorites but I love Gail lover and e.s. smith both fairly new authors or at least new to me e.s.smith dragoqseries is great funny witty smart women I love. Also Gail Kogers With My Luck is truly one of the funniest books that I’ve read. And of course list cannot be done without Laurann Dohner.

Donna Grant has been one of my favorite authors and I love the Dark Kings Series. I have just started to get into the Bayou Heat Series and really enjoy Laura Adrian and Alexandra Ivy. I enjoy this because it gives me more authors to look at and series that I can look into. Great.
I love Lia Davis Ashwood Falls Series. It is one of the best I have read. She also is an amazing person in general I believe her characters have tons of heart & are unique to other shifter books I have read.
So hard to choose just 3!!! There are several that are on my love, love, love list; Jane Yellowrock (no doubt), Kate Daniels, Mercy Thompson, Kitty Norville, Alpha & Omega, Magnus Pack, after dark, etc; then there are several authors that aren’t even on the list (C.E.Murphy, Gail Carriger, Cassie Alexander, LK Hamilton, Jennifer Ashley, Devon Monk, S. Kenyon - FANG, Christine Warren, Lora Leigh, Rebecca York, Kim Harrison, Marjorie M. Liu, and MORE).
Kept changing my marker; those not chosen, it wasn’t any reflection on your writing or characters. Keep up the great work, one and all. I can’t wait to read more (^___^). Thank you for some suggestions to check out later.
I loved Lora Leigh since I pick up her first book. When I found the Breeds series, she become one of my all time favorite author. The series have everything you could want in a series. I would recommended you just pick up one of the books from the series, you will love, love it.
I LOVE The Breed Series by Lora Leigh. My vote goes there. I have a couple others I like but non other The Breed Series! I love Lora’s style of writting and the complexity of the characters. Ever since I read, Tempting The Beast (which is first) I was hooked. The early stages of the series and how the Characters have evolved have been incredible. You find yourself wondering what YOU would do if in that situation. Plus there is NO SIMPLE solution. Just makes you wonder. This series not only brings hot erotic romance but a mystery as well. Can’t get enough.
The Breed series is one of the best out there. I have read a lot of other shapeshifter type books but this one grabbed me right away. I had to go and find the rest of them. I have re-read the series I don’t know how many times. The story lines are well thought out. You can almost see yourself within the book as one of the characters.
Lora Leigh is a HUGE part of my library with all the different series and books that she has written over the years. Absolutely one of the best.
I would recommend to anyone to pick up the first book in the Breed Series. Tempting the Beast. You will be caught.
My vote went to Kate Daniels series.
I would have to pick Lora Leighs Breed series. Even though it is paranormal she writes her books so well and in such in-depth detail that you honestly believe it could happen. She is one of the best authors for this genera
Firstly, I choose Dark Kings simply because Donna Grants stories are vivid and so unique. Next, I pick Kresley Cole because her series IAD is such an intricately woven world that I find her imagination to be one of the most amazing creative minds I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing and I fall in love with EVERY single character. Lastly, it’s Bayou Heat by Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright (not Lara Adrian, which y’all should fix & I adore Lara as will, lol….surprised I didn’t see The Midnight Breed Series actually). Bayou Heat sent tingles throughout me as I read. Those two ladies now how to get passions going, and come now….the accents and panther/puma shifters ? Yes please!

The Phoenix Pack written by Suzanne Wright. There are only three books I just hope for more.
She is on next weeks list. We had 60+ and went alphabetically.
I voted for the Mercy Thompson series, the Kate Daniels series, and the Immortals After Dark series. On this list there were many shifter series I have not read. I look forward to checking them out, especially the Jane Yellowrock series.
I threw my vote to Patricia Briggs and the Alpha and Omega series. Briggs seems to be the queenpin of shapeshifters.
I voted Mercy Thompson and Alpha & Omega from Patricia Briggs and Breeds by Lora Leigh. But it was a tough choice, because I’ve read and loved a lot of the choices.
Sooo hard to choose. My first vote went to Shelly Laurenston’s Magnus Pack. So funny and sexy. My second was tough it was between Kresley Coles IAD series and GA AIken’s Dragons. I went with Kresley. Third was Jane Yellowrock. Whew…tough choices.
Psy Changeling series by Nalini Singh
I love Jane Yellowrock! She’s tough, kicks butt, but also has a feminine side.
I chose Mercy Thompson, Jane Yellowrock and Kate Daniels all kick arse women. But more important then that they are in great stories which are well written. I could have chosen more but as we where aloud 3 these are mine.
I’m disappointed that Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series is not on your list. It’s my number one shifter series and always will be.

I had to go with Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark because that was the first paranormal series I ever read and I just love it!
Had to pick Mercy Thompson! Briggs makes them so very real that after finishing one of the books, I feel like I should be able to drive over to the Tri Cities and get Mercy to fix my car, Kyle to handle my divorce (if I were married ) and Adam’s security firm to install a home system for me

S.E. Smith series, the Dragon Lords of Valdier gets my vote as she writes beautiful books which had a nice balance of adventure and humor that makes it enjoyable to read. I especially like the heroines in the series as they strong independent women that are able to stand up for themselves and their ideas.

Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter gets my vote…(It’s really a vote for Beast too, of course!). Yes, Jane’s a kickass shapeshifter vamp assassin who works FOR the vampire council, but its her internal struggles and emotional growth that keep me coming back for more.

Just three? Rats. So many great books and authors. So I voted for new species by Laurann dohner. Love the sexy,strong men she uses, and tales of the were by Bianca d’arc who doesn’t want a mate like that, and Sherrill kenyons were hunters because of the use of humor and the courage they display. All three authors are great and have many,many good things in their series. I have bought multiple copies of other works by them and love their writing style.
The voting is so very tight that the fans might want to post this on their favorite authors website. I love the three I voted for. Laurann dohner, for the new species books, I love these guys and want one for myself. Loyalty,courage strength wow. Tales of the were by Bianca d’arc love the guys in that, and sherrilyn kenyons were hunters because of the humor and how she ties in history they live hundreds of years and the style of her writing. I love all three of these authors and it was very hard to pick just three.
