Screen Bites: Endings, Beginnings, and Strange Developments: Lost Girl, Haven, and Warehouse 13

Lost Girl, SyFy

Thankfully, the rest of the “team” all lived through the big battle. However, it seems that a bit of the iffy power got left behind in Bo, which I’m sure will comprise quite a bit of the Season 3 storyline. Also, now that Dyson is “whole” again, and Lauren is free, I imagine we’ll be back to the love triangle in earnest. I’m not crazy about this idea, but if the show handles it well, I may come around. What do you think?

My favorite line from the finale: “Dude was like a fae Jerry Springer” (Kenzie talking about the Geruda).

What did you think of the finale? What do you hope to see in Season 3?

Lost Girl returns in January.

Haven, Friday 10:00 EST, SyFy

I don’t know about you, but I was thrilled to have the show return, and I think it came back strong. Nathan and Duke are up to their old tricks — alternately fighting and working together. We learned that Duke is a power-absorber, which is interesting, and that the Colorado Kid may still be alive. If so, I wonder what his connection to Audrey is, and if she helped spirit him away somehow.

We never did see the man who kidnapped Audrey, and they may take a while to reveal that. Any guesses?

What did you think of the “trouble” story in this episode? I found it intriguing but also kind of confusing.

Warehouse 13, Monday 9:00 EST, SyFy

A lot happened in the last two episodes. Steve (and Claudia) got disentangled from the metronome (which is a good thing, since it got smashed). Mrs. Frederick sent H.G. off with the astrolabe, to hide it in a safe place. On a related note, that was the scene I was thinking of, that I mentioned last time, with Lena seeing where Artie had hidden it.

Speaking of Lena — do you think she will survive? I think it would be a mistake for her to be killed off.

Apparently Artie’s subconscious was affected by the use of the astrolabe, causing him to imagine the sinister Brother Adrian, and now it seems he has been “possessed” by someone or something else. Do you think it will be someone we have seen before?

On a happier note — Amy Acker! You regular visitors here to the column know how pleased I am when she makes an appearance.

What do you think about Artie being the evil he was afraid of? Do you think any of this situation will be resolved in the next episode, which will be the Fall finale? The writers do tend to leave us hanging at the end of each season, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they make us wait.

Has anyone been watching Revolution? Who plans to give 666 Park Avenue a chance?

**Watchers, don’t forget that Fringe and Grimm both return Friday, 9/28, Once Upon a Time on 9/30, and Supernatural next Wednesday, 10/3.

  1. Well, I ‘ve been out of commission for a week from a cold, so I fell behind. Or rather I’d pass out before I could finish watching stuff. But I’m better now and caught up with everything except the last ep of Warehouse 13.

    LOST GIRL

I’m with you. I’m not to fond of bringing the love triangle back again. But I think with the right writing, it could play out well. Although before it seemed to be more of a jealousy of the other, than a real vying for a relationship.

I kinda hope for more of Vex in Season 3. I think he is hilarious. And I definitely need to see more Hale/Kenzi. I am a little confused about the intro of Hale’s sister in the finale. Will she be in the show more? Or was that just for the finale?

    HAVEN
Oh, I missed this show! I am so glad we got more Dwight! I love his character and I hope he’ll be around more.

I love Duke! And I feel so bad for him. He obviously loves Audrey too. I was hoping he’d move on when they brought in Evie, but alas the feelings see to still be there. This is not going to turn out well.

I honestly can’t even begin to guess who the kidnapper was. I’m going to guess at a completely new player to save my sanity at trying to guess.

I don’t know what to think of the trouble. I definitely thought it was interesting how everything came into being, but there are some holes that I’m having trouble filling. Is the guy dead or is he alive somewhere and his mind will bring him back in a spaceship someday? I don’t kow. I guess we’ll have to leave it at that unless they bring it up again.

For some reason I wasn’t real excited about Revolution. I’m not quite sure why. Maybe I’ll give it a go if NBC decides not to cancel it. I will be watching 666 Park Avenue though.

And I can’t wait to see thes rest of the returning shows! It sucks that Fringe and Grimm are on at the same time though!

  2. I think last battle scene was really low, cheap budget look. I have been struggling to watch it. Love Vex, but they castrated his character in the last bit. Never did care for the Loren Bo thing as I never could feel attracted to the Loren character. She looks anorexic and is not attractive and kinda whiny.
I think they knocked the wind out of the series when they killed the Dyson/Bo love affair. It was hot and it is what I looked forward to. Ya now, when you have a good thing going, don’t mess with a thing…
Like Warehouse 13, all of it.
Do not care for big bad in 666 as a satan kinda guy. Just not makin it and the series will get monotonous..
Don’t care for Haven, don’t watch it.
I am a Grimm addict for sure. That lead guy is right up my alley, hot and beautiful. He would have been perfect in the movie One for the Money. The book perfectly describes this type of character as the lead heroin’s lover.
