  1. I put no, it is so very evil and wrong… but also other, because if I’m truly desperate and there is nothing else I can do, well, yeah, okay, I do it. But then I fix it as soon as possible so it won’t be stuck that way. :D

  2. only evil people damage books!

  3. It’s a bad thing to do. I have done it before and always felt bad.

  4. I hate when evil people do that to my books. Book should never be damaged.

  5. No, No, No!

  6. It is evil and wrong. But I also voted for not to do it to a library or friend’s book, since I think those are the instances in which it is the most evil and wrong.

  7. It’s easy enough to wreck a corner without trying…why do it deliberately?

  8. Raonaid Luckwell

I chose no no no no. I never done it, I just find a scrap paper to use to mark my place..

  9. My sister knows NEVER NEVER NEVER bend the corners or crack the spines on my books….she is extra careful with my books and says they always look like they haven’t been read…bend the corners…sacrilege…

  10. Maybe when I was younger and didn’t buy the books I might have done so BUT now I treasure my books so bookmarks are a must to keep my place if interrupted in reading the book even keep my food and drink away to side so not to ruin pages. And yes I know you don’t have that problem with ebooks but some books are better appreciated in paper

  11. I truly loathe this practice. You can make just about any piece of paper or card a bookmark. If you’re like me you have a zillion of them. I got tons at RT14. Yeah. Plus alot of authors will send you some if you send a self addressed stamped envelope.

  12. No, no, no! I loathe anything that changes that beautiful crisp mint condition of new books. I collect pretty bookmarks, so I always have one to mark my place. Even if I didn’t, it’s pretty easy to find it anyway, so why ruin a book?

  13. no NO NOOOOOOOO how could someone damage a treasure like that !! definitively no

  14. No No NO!!!!! It’s evil!

  15. No! No! No!

  16. No! NO! It is evil! I never bend a books pages and always stipulate that when loaning any to friends. I’m very careful when reading a print book and my addiction to Doritos has caused me anguish when I discovered tinges of orange on pages. LOL

With my paperbacks that are mine-not anyone else’s, I dog ear pages simply because I never can keep a book mark. I do however use a book thong if I have borrowed a book from a friend or library or it is a hard backed book. None of my hardback books have dog eared pages. SO I guess I have been evil, but I swear I have a good heart.

  18. NO! NO! NO! It’s Evil and Wrong
It Is Okay to Do to My Own Books
    Never On a Library Book

  19. I re-read my books over and over so they get damaged anyways. I don’t do it to my hardbacks though, unless it is a textbook.

  20. NO! NO! NO! It’s Evil and Wrong
    that’s what bookmarks are for

  21. It’s never ok NO NO NO!

  22. No, this drives me nuts! Get a bookmark already!

  23. shudder — that’s what bookmarks are for!

  24. So evil. No way!

  25. nope I don’t do it now. Used to do it when I was younger. now I use most anything as a bookmark.

  26. It is a huge no, no!

  27. I picked
    1. No! No! No it’s Evil and Wrong
    2. it’s ok to do to my own books
I picked both because it does seam wrong to me but have done it my self to mark a great page.so I go both ways on it.

  28. I definitely do not ‘dog ear’ my books, I think it is evil and wrong! How hard is it to use a bookmark or a bit of paper?!

  29. Kellie Hutcherson

No! No! and No! One of my girlfriends did that and more to one of the books I loaned her and when I got it back I was so shocked and upset and couldn’t hide it and she noticed my horrified look and immediately began apologizing and offering to buy me another copy of the book. Needless to say I never loaned her another one of my books. She’s still a friend, just not a book friend.
