Bitten by Books
loved the podcast, Rachel! the end of the interview, with the ‘mini-bites’ was really good!
I like how SOUND BITES with the MINI-BITES dovetails with the whole theme of the web site:)
Thanks Gloria, Sandra came up with the name! I am glad you were able to stop by and listen to the interview. Did you learn anything new about me?
he he he 7/22 all the way!
Thanks for listening, and I’m glad you like the names!!
Wow, seriously, I didn’t realize that there were sooo many people involved in this blog. Yeah, I’ve seen the review list where the pics and a mini bio is listed. But wow! Hey, Rachel, I too get a nap every day. I find that it keeps me fresh and reading late into the night.
Who are some of your “original” people still reviewing?
Have you tried to get J K Rowling on this site?
Lisa Richards!
Thanks for coming by! Yep there are a lot of people involved in BBB. Not all the reviewers are on full time. But there are a core of about 20 or so that are, then we have part timers, shortimers, Alzheimers. JUST KIDDING lol I usually need two naps right now. he h eh he.
Virginia our Review Manager is one of the very first reviewers. You can read her reviews here: http://www.bittenbybooks.com/author/author-virginia/ and she’s written a LOT since the beginning!
I have never tried for J. K. Rowling. Now that is a thought. I did try and dig up S. Meyer in the beginning but no dice. I think it would be interesting to have her on, despite the divided camps.
I’m a napper too..in fact *looks at watch* might be time for one now!
Thanks for listening!!
I just LOVE this new feature for Bitten By Books! Listening now, sounds fab xxx and I look forward to future episodes!
I’m so glad you liked it! Thanks for listening!
Yay!!!
Thanks for listening.
I’m excited to be doing this podcast for the site and I hope everyone enjoys it.
Stay tuned for great author interviews!!
Phew!! That’s a BIG compliment, thanks!! I’m glad you like it, and I can tell you, the interviews I’ve done to this point are far from dry..in fact..some are quite wet, with alcohol! LOL. I will try to keep it lively for you.
Wowhoo pod cast I can’t listen right now want to enjoy it later.
Hi Rachel!
I am really enjoying this new feature to Bittenbybooks! It’s so cool putting a voice to you now haha, and I love learning about how the site is run. I love the mini bites, that was fun
Rachel sounds great, doesn’t she?! Thanks for listening!!
Hi,
It was interesting learning more about how the site works.
Loved the podcast!! Can’t wait till the next one!!
Of which I forgot to ask, when is the next one?
Thanks!!
Helen G.
Thanks for listening and I’m so glad you liked it!
We’re going to run the podcasts every two weeks. We’ll keep posting them until I run out of steam..
Stay tuned!!
I missed the podcast and I can’t access the main body of this post! Dagnabbit. The comments are covering the main body for some reason. sigh…..
This was very interesting. I always thought that you put tons of work into BBB but it’s even more than I had thought. It’s very nice of you to put so much time and effort into giving us so much to enjoy and explore. I loved the mini bites. Vampires Vampires :)!
vsloboda(at)gmail(dot)com
Yay, Vampires! LOL.
Thahks for listening!
I’d love to comment about it, but I can’t see the main body of this post and didn’t get to hear the podcast.
Maybe I’m doing something wrong or am missing something on my computer. Sucks.
Okay so, I listened to it through the link in the email so Yay! Very Cool I like this. So often you don’t get the chance to hear what an author sounds like. Or you have to interpret how they sound through what’s written. SO very nice.
Oh and just so you all the work that goes into this site is completely appreciated. This site is truly the best. And I have to give Rachel a resounding Kudos and Bravo, because I had a 7 day-a-week job and stopped working there after a year. So Kudos and Bravo!
And ditto on J.R. Ward. I saw her at a book signing. Freaking.Hilarious.
I started coming here about 2 years ago. So was there something in that first year of BBB that is drastically differnt now? Anything that you thought would work a certain way, but didn’t?
Looking forward to future podcasts.
Rae M., USA
I’m glad it worked for you and thanks for listening!
Awesome! Really enjoyed it!

So glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for tuning in!
Hello, I love the podcast! Love the name, Authors on Alcohol but Sound Bites is good, too! What were you drinking when you did the interview?
Thanks for listening! This episode, I must confess I was only drinking water..LOL..but in future ones we enjoy a manhattan (or two) during the interview. The next episode coming up (in just under two weeks) is the one with Kat Richardson (Greywalker Novels) and we were being so silly, I left the bloopers in. LOL.
I loved the interview and i agree with the theme it turned out awesome
Thanks, glad you liked it. Stay tuned…
This is very cool! Will this podcast be available for subscription via ITunes in the future? Hope so!
This podcast just made me realize exactly how much work you put into this site and I’m so grateful as you are one of my go-to blogs for new books! And hee to “authors on alcohol”
Mare S, USA
I haven’t talked to Rachel yet about getting it up on itunes, we were just so excited to get it up and running, we didn’t get to that part yet.
I’ll definitely let you know.
Great and interesting interview. Looking forward to hearing the next one. Oh, and if you don’t already know it, Sandra is a published author - just one of MANY of her other amazing accomplishments!
Hi Brian!! Thanks for coming by and checking out the podcast!!
Everyone, this is Brain from EDGE Science Fiction and Fantasy Publishing!! And yes, I’m published in Evolve, Vampires of the New Undead, edited by Nancy Kilpatrick and published by EDGE, and another one of my stories will appear in the sequel, Evolve, Vampires of the Future Undead, coming out later this year.
Yay!!!
LOL. Typo…
While Brian does have a big BRAIN, his name is Brian.
This was so neat! Wow, three years for Bitten by books? Does not seem possible. And Rachel! *Gasps* You didn’t mention your love for weiner/dachshunds. For shame! I remember tormenting you about the litter mine had.
Though I do still have one of the pups. She’s my girl. She looks like her daddy but has her momma’s hair.
But thanks for the great insight on the workings behind Bittenbybooks. I know I’ve been a supporter for BBB for so long, they’ve always treated me so well, and it has such a warm atmosphere where you can’t help but feel welcome. Some sites don’t have that!
Thanks for listening!
I enjoyed the podcast, cool new feature.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for listening and stay tuned for more!!
Rachel, I know I told you this already, but the correct answer was, and always will be, UNICORNS! hehehe You did great. : )
Ditto on the unicorns.
Thanks for listening!
Wow, this is cool! I think I’ve been checking out BBB for about three years now. I love this site, so thanks for continuing to grow it.
Question: what do either of you read just for fun? Is it hard to read anymore without putting on a “reviewer” hat?
Julie T, USA
It’s all fun to read! LOL.
For me, since I’m interviewing my favourite authors, I’ve just “had” to read more of the books in their series or other short stories etc that they’ve done. If I pick up something absolutely just for fun, it’s usually still fantasy, or urban fantasy.
Oh! And I also love Dan Well’s serial killer books-I Am Not A Serial Killer, Mr. Monster and I Don’t Want to Kill You. I know it doesn’t sound like it, but those books are FUN to read!
Very cool feature!
Looking forward to more!
Thanks, I look forward to bringing you more!!
This is totally cool!!
Yay!! Thanks for listening.
That was very interesting. I don’t blog myself, so I was always interesting abut how this site works. I always wanted to know, how do you get the author to be here for interviews and event? Do they come themselves, or you you kind of ask them?
Dovile P., Lithuania
Hey Rachel and Sandy!
Great new additional feature to an already awesome site. And great to put a voice to Rachel! (Sorry your ‘no deadlines review blog’ ran away from you and kidnapped your life; but on the bright side the result is definitely awesome!)
Rachel: What’s one of the most memorable experience/s thus far in your whole BittenbyBooks experience?
Sandy: What drew you to BittenbyBooks the first time and grabbed your attention to keep you coming back?
I’ll look forward to the next Sound Bites Podcast!

Hi there!
I think I first found Bitten By Books on twitter…I can’t remember exactly what it was in the tweet that sent me racing over here, but it was a contest with one of my favourite authors (again, can’t remember which one!). I really liked the community atmosphere of the Blood Bank and was, and still am, blown away by how much there is going on here on the site!!
Thanks for listening to the first episode!!
Very cool — I think this is a great concept. I just want to know what 3 people Rachel would like to have dinner with ? And by 3 people I mean characters in 3 different books that have been reviewed or author has visited BBB.
That was great! Keep us posted about if this goes to itunes. I do get to listen and download some podcasts from there. I like how some writers put their own books on there as podcasts. But like I said, this was great! I’m really looking forward to future episodes. Congrats!!
Thanks for listening! We’ll let you know about itunes, I get all my podcasts on itunes as well.
Nice idea. Variety in the types of features you offer is always a good thing. For many people this audio format feature is going to work best for them. It is always interesting to find out just how much goes into putting something together and keeping it going.

This is fun! Who’s next?

Glad you enjoyed it.
Next up is Kat Richardson, author of the Greywalker novels!! We had a blast recording it, can’t wait to share it.
