Madalyn is orphaned in a war with the Fetis, the native people of Neworld. She develops a lifelong fear of the dark and wild. She is rescued by Nathanael and comes to lean on him. He helps and protects her until he leaves to follow his dream of being a missionary to the Fetis, to teach them about God. After another failed relationship Madalyn goes in search of Nathanael, believing that when she finds him he will realize he loves Madalyn more than God.

While Nathanael loves Madalyn he can never have her, he is committed to God and the missionary. Until one night he is invited to a Fetis ceremony and he sees them, wild and free and perfect. They don’t need his God.

An encounter with a winged man who calls himself Seraph does more than just revive Nathanael’s faith. Madalyn while broken, was heartless in her pursuit of Nathanael. There was hope at the end of the story, that she will become a better person, but at what cost?

Angel Venom was an intriguing story, but despite Madalyn’s quest to have Nathanael, and Nathaneal’s quest to bring God to the Fetis, I felt the story was ultimately about Sereph and his quest to bring his race back to life. I wanted to know more about Sereph. As a result felt the ending was both sudden and sad. The only winner being the Fetis left free to roam.
