When the U.S.S. Intrepid is found in perfect condition, just missing its crew, dead in space and nowhere near the location the ship was originally reported missing from, two hundred years since it was last heard from, the Federation’s best engineers are assembled to try and figure out what happened to the ship and crew. The answers only add new questions that send them on a larger quest for answers.
What they find will test the entire crew: Montgomery Scott, Geordi La Forge, Guinan, Nog and others, forcing them to reexamine their past and realize that it is part of their future as they try to determine whether advanced technology is truly indistinguishable from magic.
Indistinguishable From Magic is a truly enjoyable read Mr. McIntee takes us along for an adventure of a lifetime. While combining beloved characters into new groupings he holds true to the adventure and spirit of Star Trek novels to bring you along for the ride of your life.
I did not want to put the book down. As an avid fan of Star Trek and Science Fiction, Indistinguishable From Magic was a very enjoyable trip to examine how we perceive technologies beyond our current understanding and interpersonal relationships among friends and enemies alike.
