Bitten by Books
In northern Arizona, Geneva Philips is trying to enjoy her hike in the Coconino National Forest. Her newly ex-boyfriend, Robbie, the cheating lying snake, has left her alone in the forest with a nice cabin and the bill. While enjoying her trek through the woods towards her cabin, the sky suddenly becomes dark, a storm brewing out of nowhere. As she is deluged by rain, she hears a desperate scream and tries to hurry through the freezing rain, slipping, twisting her ankle. She literally stumbles onto a woman that has been feasted upon—by what, she is unsure. Knowing her safety depends on her reaching the cabin. Then she sees glowing red eyes and hears malicious laughter. Upon reaching safety, she finds a huge lump on her porch. It’s a large unconscious man, covered with blood. With a twisted ankle, she manages to drag him in to safety even though he weighs at least 100 pounds more than her. With a vampire out to kill her, and a man who says he is meant to kill vampires, and that he is immortal, there aren’t many options left for Geneva.
I adored this author’s writing style. The concept of jumping from place to place was omitted, as most of the action was contained in one place, with just a few other places visited. It is a very unique approach to Paranormal. Her descriptive manner of her surroundings make you feel like you are there watching what is happening, as if you were watching the movie instead of reading the book. The scenes in the forest make you feel like you can actually smell the flowers, smell the blood. I look forward to more by this author; she has really caught my attention with this book and her ability to keep an action-packed novel in mostly the same area. If you are a Paranormal fan, you, too, will appreciate her writing style in this well written novel that will keep your attention on the story and the world she created. You do not want to miss this if you are a fan of the Paranormal.
