What’s New Pussycat? by Dakota Cassidy

Derrick Adams is a shapeshifter – the Beta werewolf of his pack to be specific. His grandmother, Eva, is the elder of the pack and is known for reading prophecies in a bowl of chicken soup. Based on what she sees in the bowl, she sends Derrick to pick up his lifemate off the Jersey turnpike, only to discover that his intended is a cat.

Martine belongs to the Warlock Escobar and cannot fathom how they were ever separated. She has been Escobar’s familiar since she was a child. She is alarmed when she awakens in a cat carrier being waved around by Derrick. He is ranting to his brother Max (the pack’s alpha wolf) about the lunacy of having a cat for a lifemate. This sets the tone for a tumultuous beginning, and gives new meaning to the term “fight like cats and dogs.”

Although they have a natural predisposition to be adversarial, the growing heat between Derrick and Martine ignites a passion that will have you glued to the pages. If you are looking for erotica, this book has some very steamy scenes that kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning. I very much enjoyed this quick read and immediately fell in love with the two main characters. It left me wanting more, so I would have enjoyed a little more plot development to learn more about Derrick and Martine. This is some of Dakota Cassidy’s early work and has me intrigued enough to look for more from her.

About Jaded

Blessed by parents who read to her in the womb, Jaded learned to read by the age of 3. She now has an entire room dedicated to reading, with shelves of books stacked to the ceiling, in addition to a stack of books in every room. Her obsession with the written word eventually developed into the desire to write her own stories. Someone saw talent in her and she found work as a Writer/Editor. It was pure heaven. Her husband, who rarely read a book, caught the fever and is now engrossed in another series of books. Passing on the tradition of reading to her child in the womb, her daughter now sleeps in a room with stacks of books surrounding her and just won an award for logging the most reading time in a school with over 500 students.

  1. This sounds very cool! I loved Accidental Werewolf, so I’ll have to check out some of her other stuff!
