Jake Cunningham was a serious student but was pleased to be getting out of the house that night to attend a party with his friend Dylan. Arizona was so different from Minnesota, but Jake felt strangely at home. Entering the house where the party was being held, he noticed the scent of strawberries, and looking around, he saw a beautiful blonde girl in the far corner of the room. When the girl smiled, Jake noticed her violet eyes and was instantly captivated.
Emma was a Hunter, one who killed vampires, and she took her calling very seriously, though she often felt isolated. Jake had awakened one day two years earlier with a huge tattoo on his shoulder and was busy researching its meaning, wondering what the purpose of the tattoo was. Violet Midnight is a fast-paced story that had plenty of action and excitement. I enjoyed Emma and Jake’s love story and appreciated Jake’s eventual understanding of who and what he truly was.
