Leigh Halliday is looking for the bed of Richard III in Leicestershire, England. Leigh, as a Historic Preservation Architect, is helping restore the Donington-Heath Manor House in 2009 when she falls and hits her head. When awakened in 1485 London, she is mistaken as the Lady Sandrissa, betrothed to the Duke of Nottingham, Guy Blakamour. Leigh, knowing what perils the future holds, must carefully figure out why she is in the past.
Guy Blakamour is known as a man executed for treason against King Richard III and for drowning his wife, Sandrissa Maudeville. Leigh knows this about him, but after spending many months with Guy, she finds herself falling madly in love. She must decide whether to let history run its course or try and prevent what history says about the man she loves.
Diana Rubino, having a masters degree in archaeology, weaves the fictional characters right into real historical events with ease. You really feel like its 1485 England and the two lead characters are meant to be together. The author also gives creditable reasons for Leigh’s time traveling. This is a must read for those who love historical romances. The science fiction spin just adds to its appeal.
