Silver Zombie by Carole Nelson Douglas

Silver Zombie: Delilah Street: Paranormal Investigator by Carole Nelson DouglasDelilah Street has settled into the insane life in Vegas. But, her boyfriend, Ric Montoya, thinks she needs to make a trip back to Kansas and confront her past. So, they travel back to Kansas, where Delilah slowly follows the “yellow brick road” to find out more about herself and her “twin.” But, the mysteries of Vegas still manage to follow her when a mysterious financial backer of the area’s newest casino makes an appearance. Ric and Delilah will need to get to the bottom of another mystery.

Silver Zombie is another fascinating installment in the Delilah Street saga. What has been cool about the series is the ongoing story line. Delilah makes the trip to Vegas and each book tells about a different adventure in Delilah’s new life in there. She has met a fabulous man, gained a pet, and made some enemies, all in a short period of time. Delilah’s backstory has been a source of fascination for me, so I was excited to read in Silver Zombie about her trip back to search out her past and for the girl who brought her to Vegas in the first place.

While not all of my questions were answered by this book, there were a few that got resolution. If you are a paranormal mystery buff, this is a series I would recommend jumping into. It is never boring and Delilah is a character who will enchant you from the very first page.

  1. If I didn’t already have this book on my wishlist, the Oz references would force me to put it there. Anyone smart enough to “Lions, Tigers,& Bears Oh My” blurb me, has me hook, line & sinker. What can I say, besides being a long time WoO fan, I’m easy.

  2. Hmm sounds like something wicked does come to Kansas. Being from the NYC area anything that makes that part of the country interesting is worth reading.

  3. Please note that I originally commented on this review. Alas, I still haven’t started it but I do have all 5 of the books in this series so I pulled them off the shelf and put them in my read next pile as the series appears to be over. Alright! I love this idea of redo reviews as it is forcing me to examine some series that I didn’t realize were over. I always binge read these so this week I’ll knock out two that are complete and I have on hand! Woohoo!

  4. love the cover, it’s gorgeous and the book/series sounds wonderful. i look forward to reading it.

i liked the review, it gave just enough details to make you want to read the book without spoiling it for you before you could. :)
