Silver Tongued Devils by Dawn Montgomery

Silver Tongued Devils by Dawn MontgomeryRaesa has nowhere else to go so follows the directions her father gave her long ago if anything ever happened to him. Escaping after being captured to become a slave, Raesa breaks into the pirate ship Crimson Star. What she finds there will change her life forever.

Capturing the unknown person who has broken onto the Crimson Star has more than one effect on Brom. Delivering her to Captain Na’varr throws up even more surprises when he is then left to look after Raesa as the drugs she was given take over.

Can Na’varr live up to the reputation that Raesa’s dad has given him? Will the three be able to maintain the explosive relationship that is forming?

This short novella really draws you in with skilful writing, but you are left with too many questions about the background of the characters. This is a shame as the writing style is very good and the characters intriguing, so I did want to know more and really get to know the characters. Silver Tongued Devils would have benefited from a longer length, and I would love to see this as a full-length novel with all that extra detail.

About Emma D.

Emma – From early childhood my parents encouraged me to read and I spent most of my time either with my nose in a book or on my horse. While my parents can take the glory for my love of reading they have no idea where I got my love of animals (horses and dogs in particular) from. I got my first dog when I was 8 but had to hand him back as my younger siblings where scared of him (he was a bouncy puppy). So I got a horse and my parents promise I could get a dog when I was fourteen (they thought I would forget). Well I turned 14 and asked for my dog J I’ve had one ever since. Now days as an adult my time is split between work, reading, my dog (just in the last year and a half I’ve taken up dog agility) and still occasionally some horses. When reading I read across a wide variety of genres from sci fi and fantasy to murder/mystery. I’m not particularly fond of historical but otherwise I’ll give anything a try.

  1. Thank you so much for your review, Emma! There will be more books in the series so hopefully I’ll answer your questions if you’re willing to hang with me through their high octane adventures. <3
