Relentless by Lauren Dane

“The tensions sweeping through the Known Universes belonging to the Federation had brought sharp focus to the issue of the lack of parity between the Ranked Family members who make all the leadership decision and the unranked — the majority of citizenry — who had no voice at all.”

Thus the stage is set for the external conflict which brings rich, luxurious texture to the love story between Abbie Haws, a rabble-rouser from the multitude of unranked citizenry, and Roman Lyon, the leader of the Ranked Families and planetary government. The heat between these two very sensual individuals erupts at their first meeting. As they make time to explore the realities of the society they live in but don’t share, they indulge the sudden and near-overpowering passions proximity brings. Passion and politics make very sensual and scorching bed partners.

With Relentless, it is easy to get caught up and even lost in the very erotic love scenes Dane has so ably crafted, but to do so is to diminish the very real “future political expose” which is just as beautifully and capably presented.

Unless you are a speed reader with ample time for a second more leisurely read, put aside some time to savor this page-turner. It deserves a reader’s full attention.
