Nightwalker’s Pet by Cricket Starr

Andrea Windall is a vampire living a quiet, uneventful life. Leaving work late one night, or make that early one morning, she rescues an injured dog that seems eager to go home with her. That leads to a naked hunk named Ronald Harn on her sofa, some steamy sex, and an unconscious sorcerer on her living room floor. This momentarily spices up Andrea’s life, but is she ready to permanently shed her inhibitions?

Ms. Starr creates just the right chemistry between Andrea and Ronald to make them a great match in spite of their genetic differences. I like how Ms. Starr uses Ronald to help her build Andrea. His insight provides some details about Andrea’s past, and his acceptance of Andrea brings her to accept herself. This erotic quickie has enough characterization and story to make it an enjoyable read that is both fun and touching.
