Cassandra is a Voodoo Priestess in good ole New Orleans. She is on a mission to try to find a way to raise zombies. It is the only way that she can try to help her friend Diana’s husband and step son. But she also has ulterior motives.
Devon is going to help the Priestess find the Sorcerer who has the power to raise the dead. But Cassandra is doing a little rising of her own with him. He cannot seem to help his feelings and desires when it comes to the strange woman that he is helping. Is she right? Is there really magic in the world?
In an attempt to help her friends, and herself, she rushes off to Haiti to find the answers. But the answers that she finds are not exactly what she was looking for. Can she keep from allowing her feelings get in the way of realizing her dream? Or are her new found desires more than she can handle?
What an interesting addition to the Night Creatures series! I enjoyed Cassandra in Crescent Moon and was thrilled that she got her own tale in the series! Her sad past made her such a heartbreakingly unforgettable character! I could, as a mother, completely lose myself in her and her plight to regain her child, through whatever means necessary. I found myself rushing through the book to see what she was going to do next, and then rereading the book to ensure that I didn’t miss anything. Looking for a series with a wide cast of characters? Then Lori Handeland’s Night creature series is definitely one you should pick up!
