Last Line by Harper Fox

Last line is an action and angst-filled book about torture, spies, mental programming and black ops. I highly enjoyed reading this book by Harper Fox and recommend it for anyone looking for a little more from their fiction.

John and Michael are partners for a type of black ops team that operates outside of government confines. If they get caught they officially never worked for their organization, it denies all ties. This makes for shady work for which you must always trust your partner. John loves Michael, but keeps his feelings under control knowing that his partner has his own demons and does not seem to be into him (that way). The problems start when a man from Michael’s past comes in singing songs and has Michael acting completely differently and-brain washed. Anzhel claims he is on their side, but whose master does he really serve, and why is Michael in some kind of thrall to him?

This book is deep — eerie in places, sexy in others and so twisted all around. Be warned is that this is a part of a trilogy so the ending only leaves more questions and head scratches. Harper Fox has created such a deep character in Michael, and it is amazing that he is even remotely sane at all. John is also so loyal that it is heartbreaking, and the ending will leave you with hope.
