Karinna (Kari) Adams is a graphic designer who is happy with her simple life. She believes that she is losing it because she is obsessed with a man in a painting. She can’t stop thinking about him or dreaming about him.
Jason Rourke is a blond, blue-eyed vampire that is just a bit over 700 years old. The last 300 years of his existence have been in a painting. He made the mistake of seducing the wrong woman and has paid the price for centuries.
Keri can’t help that fact that when she gets off work, she automatically goes to an art gallery to stare at a picture. Time flies by while she just stands there and watches the man in the painting. He seems to move inside the painting, never appearing in the same place. Knowing how obsessed she is with the painting, the owner’s brother talks her into taking it home for the weekend. She makes the mistake of wishing him out of the painting, and next thing she knows, there is 700-plus-year-old vampire in her house wanting her help. Rourke was sent into the painting as punishment after he seduced a wizard’s daughter, taking her innocence. The wizard was so angry that he sent not only Rourke into a painting but his daughter into a different one. Rourke asks Kari help to free the daughter and get revenge. Kari is just a tool to an end, or that is what he tells himself at first.
Immortal Sins by Amanda Ashley was a very creative story. Sending two different people into paintings where they can never move or talk…just the thought gives me the shakes. Rourke was sexy and used others to get what he wanted but, after meeting Kari, he can’t help but care about someone else instead. She teaches him to remember that action have repercussions. Rourke shows her that she isn’t cold but has a passion inside her for just the right man, or vampire. The two grow through the book and become better people that they can each be proud of.
