Fall of Night by Rachel Caine

Fall of Night: The Morganville Vampires by Rachel CaineI have to admit with this series, I’ve skipped around. I read the first seven books the day they came out, and then picked up the books here and there. When Fall of Night was released, I was interested, so I opened it up and hoped I wouldn’t be lost. I was intrigued that the scenery was different. Claire got accepted into MIT and left Morganville. I was so excited to see Claire away from Shane, Michael and Eve. Often times, I felt there was too much drama between the four or centering on the four, and seeing Claire on her own was great.

The skinny of the plot is that Claire is working on her machine that blocks the vampires mentally, but Morganville isn’t the only place that holds secrets… Everyone wants the VLAD gun that Claire made; it’s the spark of war that both Humans and Vamps could use. I enjoyed the alternating perspectives between Claire and Shane, and got that he was a bit of a butt in the last book. Bottom line? I liked Fall of Night as it reminded me why I started the books. I might pick up the previous books I missed in the series.

  1. I’ve only read the first 3 0r 4 books in this series but I have continued to get each of the other books as I’ve to pick up a R Caine book I didn’t enjoy. Loved her Weather Warden series. She is always an auto buy for me

    • I LOVE this series! I have had the books for a long time and just started them. I am on book 6 Carpe Corpus. Such a well written series. Not that I doubted it would be.
