Dark Heat by Jan Springer

Warrior Queen Megan Darksky-Bloodrayne has found herself back in the arms of her estranged husbands after 40 years of hiding. Betrayed and forced to run, Megan finds a new home within Vampira, a community of vampire women living amongst the humans, and hidden from the vampires that search for them. Framed for terrorist attacks on the warriors antique stores, Megan must keep her two husbands out of her mind or the prophecy will come true. Seer had predicted long ago that if the men found out about the twin daughters she was carrying that they would slaughter and kill both her and the babes, she had to keep them from reading that information from her mind. No matter how many ingenious ways of sexual torture they came up with to try and break her.

Kings Christian and Zane needed to prove Megans guilt or innocence in the crimes she had been accused of and they had a few new tricks up their sleeves since the last time they held their captive bride in their arms. Hoping that the evidence could not be true they needed her to give them the names of those who truly were involved in this plot against the Kingdom. The brothers needed to get some other information from their sexy mate as well. Why she fled, where she had been hiding and who had been sharing her bed for these long 40 years.

Megan had never been so tempted to let Christian into her mind. The sexual torture he was inflicting on her as they awaited Zane was almost more than she could handle. Keeping her strength, she must focus on the one fact that had kept her going all these years. If they found out about their daughters, the Kings would kill them and Megan too giving their new Queen a place not only in their bed, but as the true Queen to their vampire Kingdom. Awe but the torture was such a pleasure, especially when Zane joins them, for the woman who had remained true to her lovers despite their supposed intent to wipe her from the face of the planet. Once a member of the Crystal Clan, the Kings knew from the first time they took their captive bride that she had an uncontrollable desire for more than vanilla sex and they needed to remind her of the pleasures they could give her. If only she would break and give them the information they need to stop the attacks. Taking their woman to bed after using their limitless methods of sexual torture on her, they are able to finally find a crack in her armor. Megan cannot give in to them but her instincts tell her that their words are true but if her suspicions are right she and her daughters might still be in deadly danger. She must decide whether to trust in her heart and allow her lovers back into her mind and open her heart to them or to stay silent, believing once again the person who she truly believes is the one behind the acts of terrorism, their separation and the threats on her life.

If you like BDSM than you will love the heavy handed dose of sexual torture and erotic pleasure that Megan receives from her two vampire lovers. It will heat you up and have you shedding layers of clothing as quickly as you can turn the page. Many times in a case like this, the sex gets to be the focus of the scene and everything else concerning the plot is set aside and forgotten. Not so with this book, the plot is evident with each scene as they use their sexual devices to torture their heroine into revealing her sources and her secrets the flow of the storyline is still in focus despite the very intensely distracting sexual exploits. Megan stood strong as she was pushed to her limits and the men, although very demanding and at times a bit heavy handed in their means, showed that everything they did to their lover was blended with their true and unending love they had for her even after the separation. There was, however, one part of their story that let me down. I was expecting more of a confrontation when the men find out the truth but instead the conclusion of the story is tucked away in a neat and tidy package. It would have been more fitting for these warriors to have a show-down or battle of some sort with their true enemy or even better would have been Megan standing up and giving some of the pain she had lived with as she was forced to live away from the men she loved and keep her secrets for so long. In any case Dark Heat was a very exotic and erotic read that would definitely give me impetus to go back and read the first in the series and definitely make me pick up future books from this series in the future.
