Catch Of A Lifetime by Judi Fennell

Angel Tritone is out to prove herself. Tired of being “just Angel”, sister to the High Councilman, Angel is determined to makes her brother see that she is the best choice to head up the Mer-Human coalition he is planning on forming. When observing Michael, a human child puts her in a dangerous position, she has no choice but to save herself by letting the child help her out of the water and onto the deck of his father’s boat. She doesn’t plan on staying but when Michael’s father Logan discovers her sleeping naked on his boat (thankfully with legs instead of a tail), she realizes that she has the perfect opportunity to do the research that will guarantee her the position she wants so badly.

Logan Hardington longs for normalcy. Growing up in a traveling circus, he left as soon as he had the chance and did everything to ensure that he could have the life he dreamed of. Now, with a home and a successful business, he suddenly finds himself a single dad when a former girlfriend drops the 6 year old son he never knew he had off on his doorstep. Logan is determined to give Michael the stability and normalcy he never had as a child and the naked woman on his boat doesn’t exactly fit in with that plan. But Michael insists that Angel stay and be his babysitter. Logan reluctantly agrees and as the days pass, finds himself liking Angel as much as his son does. When Angel’s secret is revealed and Michael’s life is in danger, Logan must put aside his desperate need for all things normal to save what matters to him most.

Catch of A Lifetime is the 3rd book in the Tritone Family saga and just as engaging as the first two. Judi Fennell continues to delight and amaze with her colorful cast of characters including Mers, talking birds, lizards and sea creatures and even a surprise appearance from a very well-known Greek God. Fast-paced action, edge of your seat adventure and steamy love scenes make Catch of a Lifetime a real keeper. There seemed to be hints that a book about Mariana Tritone may be on the way and this reviewer is hoping that is the case. It is much too soon for the Tritones to sail off into the sunset.

Book Excerpt: “She’s on a mission to save the planet…

When he finds out what she really is, they’re both in mortal danger…
For Logan Hardington, finding a beautiful woman on his boat is surely not a problem—until he discovers she’s a mermaid, and suddenly his life is on the line…”

About Lori

For Lori, being an avid reader was inevitable as the daughter of two English Lit majors. It also didn’t hurt that her Grandmother was a children’s librarian so there were always plenty of books in the house. When she is not reading, she can be found performing in and choreographing musicals for local theater groups. She works full-time for the Federal government and juggles that, being a wife and mother, the theater and still finds time to read on a daily basis. She is rarely without a book in her purse and her husband loves to tell people about the time she pulled out a book and read at an NHL game.

  1. Oh I’m so glad you liked it! Thanks for the great review. And Mariana is chatting away in my ear, so I’m hoping to get the chance to tell her story and Pearl’s after the genies make their debut next January.
