A woman with a young face, old eyes, and living in a house that is remarkable preserved from the elements surrounding it definitely throws a wrench into his plans, but then what a lovely wrench indeed.

To say Rick Lowell is reluctant to leave his newfound (and injured) mate to heal with her Pride is a massive understatement. Unfortunately, until Belle is mostly healed, there is no way he can subject her to the female dominants in his Pack; they would be sure to challenge her, and she can’t shift safely until the pins are out of her hip. Damon has gone too long without a healing. The rage and violence that builds up as he fights needs an outlet, but the loss of most of his unit has pushed him beyond the abilities of most healers. The last healer who had attempted to take even a portion of his pain had gone into shock and now he is being reluctantly sent to Elysium for a more powerful psychic healer. Noelle’s preferred method of healing is through sex, though she could not anticipate how Damon would tempt her to break the rules.
