Sunny and Rayne McDonald are getting the ultimate do-over. After Rayne’s twin sister Sunny is killed, Rayne travels to the underworld and makes a deal with the devil himself to bring her back. She and Sunny will be sent back in time to before they got involved with vampires and the paranormal world, and Sunny will get a chance at a normal life.

Rayne thinks it is the perfect plan. After all, she can still have the life she wants with Jareth, her vampire boyfriend, as long as she can make him fall in love with her all over again, and Sunny can avoid ever meeting Malcolm and getting bitten by mistake and just be a normal teenager. There are only a few flaws in this plan. Rayne does not count on how strong Sunny’s love for Malcolm is, and even though she tries, Sunny finds it impossible to stay away from him.

Maya has always had questions about her heritage. Abandoned as an infant, she was very lucky to be adopted by her wonderful parents. Her father is a park ranger and his profession led the family to move from Oregon to Vancouver Island and a small, close-knit community. Everyone on the island works for the St. Cloud Corporation, a medical research company. Security is very tight and tourists are discouraged. The nearest shopping is over an hour away, but Maya has never minded. She loves the woods and the animals.
