Author Michelle Rowen Release Party and Contest

PLEASE NOTE: The contest portion of this event is now over. The winners will be chosen at a later date and contacted via email.

Thanks Bitten by Books for hosting my online release party!

Okay…so I have a BRAND NEW paranormal romance series starting called Living in Eden. The first book,  The Demon in Me, is out May 4th (tomorrow!!!). I’m telling everyone that it’s a fun, romantic look at demonic possession. ;-) My hero, Darrak, has to possess my heroine Eden’s body (thus the series title: Living in Eden, get it?). While it’s light and humorous in parts, it has a darker side to it too, since I love mixing light and dark. Remember Buffy? How that show could have you laughing one minute and crying the next? THIS IS MY GOAL.

Why demons, you might ask? Good question. For some reason or another I’ve been getting A LOT of demon and angel ideas for the last couple of years. I guess I’m kind of fascinated by the whole good vs. evil thing and demons and angels are one of the best (if not THE best) metaphor for that. Only it wouldn’t be very interesting (to me) to have demons always being the bad guys and angels always being the good guys. So my demon, while definitely demonic and proud of it, is more of a shades of gray kind of guy. And he’s also the funniest hero I’ve written to date. Normally the humor comes mainly from my heroines (like Sarah Dearly in my Immortality Bites series), but this time they equally share the quips and humorous observations. In any case, it was a hell of a lot of fun (pun intended) to write this book and the second book about Darrak and Eden, Something Wicked, that comes out in October.

So  The Demon in Me is about the ultimate bad boy demon with a sense of humor who falls for the woman he has to possess. The only woman who can help him break his curse that keeps him bound to a human body (although with Eden he’s able to take form during the day — kind of helpful!). I really hope readers connect with these new characters and have as much fun with them as I did writing them.

Okay, here’s my questions if you’d like to answer a couple: Who’s your favorite hero in a romance novel or urban fantasy, an angel or a demon? And who’s your favorite demon from entertainment, books, TV, movies, etc? Why do you like best about him or her?

  1. Hi Michelle,

I’ve read the Sarah Dearly books and enjoyed them so I’ll have to check out your new one tomorrow. My favorite demon from a book is Japhrimel from Lilith St Crow’s Dante Valentine series. I like him because even though he’s a demon he isn’t the bad guy in the books.

Do you plot out your books before you write them or do the characters change the plot on you as you write?

    RSVP’d
    entered both nook contests

  2. This sounds like a great book.
favorite demon or angel in a book, that’s a tough one, there’s so many..Al from the Hollows series..he’s mean and pushes Rachel and I think he has a soft side :) as for angel I like Patch from Hush,Hush,he’s very mysterious.
The demon I liked best was the green guy off of Buffy he was hilarious(I forget the character name its been so long)

How many books will be in this series? And will characters cross over into each book?

    I subscribe to newslwtter

    RSVPed

  3. Oh no! When I saw the question I immediately thought of Japhrimel too! So…I also like Jackie Kessler’s succubus. I think demons make for much juicier stories.

Do you believe in demonic possession? Of The Exorcist variety?

  4. I agree – Al from the Hollows (Kim Harrison) is my fav demon. Of course, I haven’t read a ton of demons. Kim also said he’s going to find loooove. Woo hoo for love! ;) I think I like him so much because he does have a soft side and that makes him a little more human!

  5. Thanks for being here. You’re being added to my ever growing books to read. I love demons.

My favorite demon is Wraith from Larissa Ione’s Demonica series. I’m drawing a blank on my favorite movie demon – he’s red and is the son of Satan and really a good guy. Got it- Hell Boy. Took me long enough.

I ask this to just about every author but how do you write? Is it all planned out or free flowing?

    I RSVP’d.

  6. Am I too late? I forgot about this. I RSVP already. I have A question for the Author. What genre of books do you like to read? Do you limit yourself to the genre that you write yourself?

    Thanks, Christine

  7. Good morning, Michelle and happy pre-release day! We appreciate you coming to hang out with us today and sharing yourself.

Now, for your questions… as far as whether I prefer an angel or a demon, it really depends on the story. Sometimes a demon can be more interesting than an angel simply for that ‘shades of grey’ thing you mentioned – I don’t really see many angels living their lives that way…

I love Japh from Lilith St. Crow’s Dante Valentine novels, but my favorite is probably Al from Kim Harrison’s Hollows series. He’s such a smarta$$ sometimes that it’s not even funny. And his constant changing of the outfits and such… he just cracks me up. And yet… he can be conniving and devious as well.

    Other boring stuff:

I RSVP’d and I subscribe already to the news letter.

Now – congrats again Michelle, I wish you much success!

  8. Hi Michelle,
    Congrats on the new series.
I don’t have one favorite hero from the books I read. With each new book, that one becomes my current fave. Haven’t read too many angels or demons yet.
When I read the question about favorite demon, the first one that popped into my head was the movie, My Demon Lover.

Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what? Is it different for each book/series?
What kind of books do you read for pleasure?

  9. Hi Michelle! Happy release party! Can’t wait to read The Demon in Me. I loved and will miss Immortality Bites series. and I can’t wait for book 2 in the Demon Princess series.
I would have to say my favorite angel is Carter from Richelle Mead’s Georgina Kincaid series. as for demons, it’s a toss up between Jerome from Richelle’s series and Al from Kim Harrison’s Hollows series. I like Jerome because any demon that can be buddies with an angel is alright in my book (plus her looks like John Cusack!)and I used to really dislike Al, but he is starting to grow on me a bit.
I rsvp’d, am already freinds on FB,Myspace and follow on Twitter (as lasergirl70) posted a link on my fb profiel and retweeted a message on twitter

  10. Ooops forgot to mention that I RSVP’d for today.

  11. I forgot I already get your newsletter and I tweeted: http://twitter.com/Romantic73/status/13319281250

  12. I RSVP’d :)

Honestly, I’m not too sure oh who I prefer; the angel or demon. Now if it was the TV show Supernatural, I would say Cass…Unfortunately I’m still working on reading the angels/demon books. I’ve been doing a lot of vampire/fae books lately.

  13. TX for being at BBB, Michelle. I prefer a demon to an angel, and my fav is Acheron’s Simi. She has a heart of gold but has such a hard time getting things “right”. She adds humor and humanity to Acheron’s dark side.

Qs 4 U: How would you compare Eden and Sarah? What characteristics of yours have you incorporated into those two?

    (4 TPG: I RSVP’d.)

  14. I love the concept of this book! i am part of your facebook and myspace all that how much say over cover art do you have?

  15. I have added this really good sounding book to my TBR list.
My question is=Do you read the dialogue in your books aloud to see if it sounds plausible?

  16. Happy release day tomorrow! Best of luck.

  17. I stepped on over to facebook and twitter. I’m never even on myspace any more. *hmmm…

  18. Michelle, I would be evil should I not come by to wish you a very happy release day. I just don’t know how you will find the energy to answer questions after that wild week at RT…I know I hit the proverbial brick wall today. I miss you already!

  19. My favorite demon has to be Al from the Hollows series and Carter is such a great Angel in Richelle Mead’s Succubus series. I love it when the character goes against their stereotypical role. It makes it more fun for the reader to keep em guessing.
So my question for you is… How do you develop your characters? Are they based on traits of people you know or is it just complete imagination?
Thanks and can’t wait to read the book!

  20. Raonaid Luckwell

I’m really liking how more authors are doing the demon front, demon paranormal/uburan fantasy is really rising up there.

    Who

  21. This book sounds like so much fun! Can’t wait to read it! My Favorite Demon is Adam from Jenna Blacks Morgan Kingsley series, he’s quite the character ;-) and my favorite Angel would have to be Carter from Richelle Meads Georgina Kincaid series!

My question for you…When you are writing do you follow an outline, start at the beginning and write to the end? Or do you write various scenes as they pop up in your head and then weave them together in the proper storyline?

I already subscribe & attended Rachel Caine release party!

  22. Hey everyone… thanks for the comments so far! I’ll be stopping by a couple of times today. I have no idea why I thought this was posting on Wednesday, lol. Especially when I refer to the date in my post itself. Ahh, I have vacation brain — just got back from the RT convention in Columbus. :)

ANYWAYYYYY…. onto some of these questions….

@Sandy G: I do plot, but I like to keep it loose so that when the characters decide they want to shift things (and they often do), I don’t fight it too much. Within reason of course. LOL. My final book usually looks a lot like my outline did, though.

@Elaine G: That was Lorne, right? On Angel? I loved him too. As far as how many books in the Living iN Eden series, this is something that is determined by series popularity. If the books do well with readers I have plenty of ideas to keep things going for many books. Each book so far focuses on the main characters Darrak and Eden and their friends. I tend to get ideas for recurring character series rather than the ones that focus on a different couple every time. There are bonuses to doing both.

@Bethany C: Do I believe in demonic possession in real life? Nope. For a paranormal author, I don’t really believe in much of it, although I think some psychics do have insight and I’m not entirely convinced that ghosts aren’t real. But demons like in the Exorcist? Nuh-uh.

@Viki S: “I ask this to just about every author but how do you write? Is it all planned out or free flowing?” — It’s planned. Just like when I take a road trip, I like to have a map. I may stop at some unplanned destinations because they look pretty, but I like to know where I’m headed.

@Christine H: “What genre of books do you like to read? Do you limit yourself to the genre that you write yourself?” — Lately I’ve been reading a whole lot of YA. I don’t read all that paranormal lately, especially not light paranormal, mainly because I don’t want to be influenced by what other like-authors are writing.

@Aymee: Thanks! And great answers! :)

@Beth C: “Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what? Is it different for each book/series? What kind of books do you read for pleasure?” — No music while I’m writing. I like complete silence since I’m easily distracted. I’ve been reading YA for pleasure. I have the new Vampire Academy book a few weeks before its official release as well as an ARC of Jackie Kessler’s Hunger that I’m dying to get my eyes on.

    @Lisa M: Thanks for your answers! :)

@Robyn: I will take Cass as an answer. He’s pretty darn hot!! ;)

@Shirley H: “How would you compare Eden and Sarah? What characteristics of yours have you incorporated into those two?” — Good question! I’d say that Eden’s a bit more serious minded while Sarah was a bit more flighty. Eden doesn’t trust easily, Sarah trusted just about anyone (the dear. ;) ). Sarah shared my sarcastic outlook on life and Eden shares my philosophies toward life and my leanings toward pessimism. They’re very different characters, but both loads of fun to write.

@Tina B: “how much say over cover art do you have?” — Not much, really. But I have to say that I did make a request that this cover not be a cartoon one (which they sometimes give to light paranormals) and that I really wanted to have a darker look and a hot guy featured on it. They sure gave me what I wanted and it’s my favorite cover so far (as well as the cover for the next book SOMETHING WICKED, which is my FAVE cover so far). Hot guys work for me on book covers. What can I say? ;)

@JOYE: “Do you read the dialogue in your books aloud to see if it sounds plausible?” — Absolutely. One of my strengths seems to be dialogue so it comes pretty naturally to my writing, but I always read it out loud just to be sure.

@Catherine Bybee: RE: Myspace. Me too. I never go there, but I still have the page. :)

@Debi Murray — Ahhh, such a sweetie. Thanks for stopping by. I’m out of energy too! I’m hoping to be able to keep up with the question answering. ;)

Love your books! Well I have preferred Angel’s in the past but now it’s harder to choose. As for favorite Demon, any from Sherrilyn Kenyon.

My first real reading experience was when I was 12yrs old my teacher gave me The Root Cellar, which turned out to be a time travel. I was hooked after that! So my question for you is…. how old were you when you read your first paranormal/time travel book, and which type was it? Did it play a large role in what you write today?

  24. Hi Michelle,

Hmmm… angels vs. demons? It depends on how they’re written. I think two of the most interesting angels I’ve read lately aren’t the stars of the novels, but strong secondary characters: Michael in Meljean Brook’s Guardians series (who is only sort of an angel and has… complications), and Carter from Richelle Mead’s Georgina Kincaid series, who hangs out with vampires and demons socially. They’re not your typical angels, which is probably why I like them so well.

Georgina is probably the most sympathetic demon I’ve read lately — her back story is full of pathos, and I just want her to eventually have a happy ending. I also love the personal demons in Stacia Kane’s Megan Chase series and enjoy how she plays with that theme. (I also agree with Elaine — Lorn from Buffy is a great demon.)

Before writing this series, who was *your* favorite demon in the media? Did he or she have qualities that influenced the series?

BBB Prize Goddess: I’m a newsletter subscriber, I RSVP’d, I commented on the weekly book group discussion and entered MJ’s and Rachel’s contests. As always, BBB is on my blog roll at http://alanajoli.livejournal.com.

  25. Hey Michelle! I’ve been following your 30 days of Demon Blogging, glad to see you here :-)

    A few questions:
    1) If you could co-write a story with anyone, who would you choose?
    2) And if you had to give up books or TV(+DVDs) forever, which would you choose?
    3) Do you like to cook? Are you good at it?
    4) What is your favourite dessert? (you can see a theme here, I quite have a sweet tooth :-D lol)
4)And lastly: if you could have a tea party who would be the 4-5 people (dead or alive, real, historical or fictional) you would invite?

I prefer demons as heros, it is more thrilling to have a bad boy hero who has a dangerous vibe about him and who can redeem himself. My favourite demon in a novel was Cade in Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark, and in TV it was Angelus from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

  26. I don’t prefer angels over demons in my stories, it depends on the story. I enjoy either as long as there is depth to the character.
My favorite in a story though is the angel Lassiter in J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood. Absolutely hilarious. Period. Nevermind the fact that he watches Oprah and Mary Tyler Moore (with pride), but he can swear like a sailor on leave and does what he wants. Definitely not the typical angel.
As for T.V., I am such a fan of the show Supernatural, not only because the demons and angels don’t fit the stereotypical mold, but because the show has some root and background from historical facts. It makes it so much more interesting when you can see where an idea or concept for an episode comes from.

Thanks for the questions Michelle, those were nice ones. Also I can’t wait to read your book. I reserved it and am picking it up the day after tomorrow.Yay!
As sort of a throw back to your question, I’m curious if and what you’re reading right now and what T.V. shows do you like?

  28. Hi Michelle,

I love your Sarah Dearly series and was sad that it ended. Glad to hear you have another series that deals with Demons!

I prefer a demon to an angel because they are bad asses and are quite the character. My favorite demon is any from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s world.

Great seeing you and all the best with the release!

My question for you: how much did you pull from the lore of angels and demons, if any?

    Answers to questions:

    And who

  31. I have to say that I too love Georgina Kincaid from Richelle Mead’s series and so far I love the fallen angel series from J.R. Ward and Carter from Richelle Mead also. My question for Michelle would be, who are your favorite authors and where do you draw inspiration from?

  32. Hi Michelle,

    Congratulations on your new release(s)!

I love demon heroes — especially Japhrimel from Lilith St Crows Dante Valentine series. But I’m picking that after reading Darrak’s story, I might well have a new demon hero to drool over! I just can’t resist a bad boy with a great sense of humor, so lead me to an online bookstore and bribe the courier for extra-quick delivery pleeeeease! (Sometimes it sucks to live in New Zealand. Sigh….)

BTW, my mate Nalini Singh’s angels are just fabulous. Raphael…. Mmmhmm. He’s bad. But in a gooood way ;-)

    Hugs!

  33. Hi Michlle — I first found your books through product reviews you used to do. I enjoyed them so much I went out and bought Bitten and Smitten and I was hooked. I will never forget how you explained the proper way to moisturize. Are you still doing product reviews?

I just bought Demon Princess, Reign or Shine and can’t wait to start it.
    Mary J (RSVP)

  34. @Amy P: “How do you develop your characters? Are they based on traits of people you know or is it just complete imagination?” — It’s a big old melting pot, really, and not something I really think about much. My characters usually appear in my imagination fully formed. I might learn more about them as I write the book, but I don’t have to push it. As far as basing a character on someone I know, I’ve never done that, but I’ve used mannerisms or ways of speaking.

@Nikki B: “When you are writing do you follow an outline, start at the beginning and write to the end? Or do you write various scenes as they pop up in your head and then weave them together in the proper storyline?” — I outline and I go from A to Z. Sometimes I will think of the last scene and I’ll write that so I have something to shoot for, but otherwise I write in order.

@Candy G: “how old were you when you read your first paranormal/time travel book, and which type was it? Did it play a large role in what you write today?” — I remember reading A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Devereux and loving it. That was a time travel, of course. It may have leaned me toward romance as a genre, but I’m mostly inspired by TV shows and movies when it comes to my own writing.

@Alana Abbott: “Before writing this series, who was *your* favorite demon in the media? Did he or she have qualities that influenced the series?” — My favorite fictional demon was Japh from Lilith Saintcrow’s Dante Valentine series, or at least he’s the first one who comes to mind as being sexy and dangerous, just as a demon should be! LOL

    @Rae M: “I

  38. hey michelle, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to spend it here with us and answer our questions. my question for you is, on average, how long does it take you to finish a rough draft? i know some books are easier than others, and as you said above you can get distracted easily, but typically speaking some authors write fast and some don’t. i was just curious which category you felt you belonged in. also, because you are the type of person to get distracted easily, do you have any tips for similar people as to how you tune everything out and get the writing done?

  39. Your new book sounds very interesting! Happy pre-release day!
My favorite Demon is Simi from Sherrilyn Kenyons Dark-Hunter series, if I have to name only one. She is just so innocent and lethal. lol
I love reality TV also, What is your favorite reality program?

  40. 1. I would definetly have to say the, or a demon. In my opinion, I think that it always makes it for such a better story, when the girl or guy goes fo rte demon…. But thats just me.
    2. My favorite demon was played by Zachary Quinto in a Charmed episode.
    3. Well, he always did the unexpeted. Also, I thought that he was extremly attractive in this episode.

  42. @Jeff Reid: Cool! I’ve signed up as an author on the site. I think that’s loads of fun. :)

@Donna W: “Was there anything that surprised you while creating this book?
Who is your favorite fictional crush?” — I was surprised by how funny Darrak turned out to be. Normally my heroes are angsty and my heroines are the funny ones. My fictional crush? I’ve always had a thing for Spike from Buffy. But mostly I fall for the heroes I create. ;)

@Chelsea B: “So, what are YOUR answers to the questions?” Hmm. I prefer demon heroes (of course). And I mentioned earlier that I really enjoyed (raowrrr) Japh from Lilith Saintcrow’s Dante Valentine series.

@Kate T: “on average, how long does it take you to finish a rough draft?…also, because you are the type of person to get distracted easily, do you have any tips for similar people as to how you tune everything out and get the writing done?” — It takes me six weeks to write a first draft, barring any disasters and another six weeks to polish it up. Tips on getting it done… I can recommend Mac Freedom, which turns off wireless internet on your Mac for a set amount of time. Also timed writing sessions or “word wars” with friends. I’m very competitive. I usually have a set number of pages to do and I know I’ll do them, but it could take me anywhere from 2 to 12 hours depending on my procrastinatory (sp?) nature. But they get done.

@darkreader: “What is your favorite reality program?” — I enjoy The Amazing Race, but my guilty pleasure has to be the Bachelor. I sooo do not want to watch the upcoming Bachelorette. But I probably will anyway. ;)

@Leni K: “have you ever started a story in one and decided that it would work better in another genre altogether?” — Not in the past. But recently I reworked a paranormal romance that I’d written in full into a YA and I’m currently shopping the proposal. We’ll see if it works! ;)

  43. Hi! I read the samples and I laughed my head off. It was great, I cannot wait!

As for my favorite demons I will have to go with Jerome and Georgina Kinkaid from Georgina Kinkaid’s series. I would like to figure out how Jerome really feels, and the same thing with Carter, the angel. Georgina has been through so much, and most of us can relate to them. My question for you is: what kind of music do you listen to? And does music help you write? Give an idea or an atmosphere?

  46. Can’t wait for the book. I have it on preorder.

  47. I’m just about to start The Demon in Me! My copy actually arrived last Friday, but I wanted to get a couple other books out the way first, and haven’t had much reading time, but thankfully do now!! Can’t wait to get in to it! It sounds fantastic and I loved all the snippets you shared on your blog in the run up to release.

    Who

  48. hi Michelle!! I have to say I would pick a demon over an angel, but that is my badboy preference coming thru. If the book was well written with a great angel, I could change my mind. The first one that pops into my mind is japh from Lilith Saintcrow series. There has been some good ones listed, but he is my favorite. He is from hell, but can love, and will do anything to protect that love. I see your new book is not available in Kindle edition. Do you have any say in that? I would really like to start your new series, and I will get the paperback is that’s the only version out, but I would prefer the kindle.

  49. I have not read an angel or demon book yet and the movies I have seen are Angels & Demons and City Of Angels. So not sure about a favorite. Demons would probably make a better book unless it was a fallen angel I supose.

    2. A demon, if it works like Buffy, and you are counting vampires. Books, I like Kisten (vampire) in Kim Harrison’s Hollows series. Otherwise, I don’t think I read enough of either (like the only Angel I can think of is Nic Cage in city of Angels). I liked Lorne, Skip and Clem on Angel and Buffy because they were funnier than their looks would tell you. I like Al from the Hollows series as best demon villain because he is so charming and dangerous. Spike is my favorite TV vampire, as well. :) (I also really liked Doyle.)

Have you ever met anyone that plays a demon? (I have met Spike, Lorne and Clem and seen Angel do a panel.)

I watch Lost and some reality, too. I’m into it enough that I made art for CafePress’ official Lost fan portal for their tees and gifts. Lots of designs, starting with a Sawyer/Sayid one http://www.cafepress.com/dirtylost

Heehee. :) RSVPd for this, RSVPd for Shannon K. Butcher, done Rachel Caine contest, done M.J. Rose contest, will do book chat later

    1 – already on newsletter. . . :)

2 – Hmm, I really haven’t tried any paranormal type books with either of those. . . I probably would say angel, but we know bad boys are more fun, and well, aren’t demons almost the ultimate bad boys? (That is of course, assuming said novel demon is a guy). Well, how about as my question, if you could have one for a while in real life for a while, which one would you prefer?

  52. @DBSKlover: “what kind of music do you listen to? And does music help you write? Give an idea or an atmosphere?” — I like top 40, not really many favorites right now. Madonna, Lady Gaga. I like Evanescence for the darker stuff. I don’t listen to music when I write but I sometimes do a “soundtrack’ that invokes the mood of the book I’m writing.

@Krista S and Claire M: Thanks! Hope you both enjoy it. :)

  53. Hi Michele, I RSVP’d and all ready follow you on Facebook and Twitter. I signed up for your newsletter and sent a MySpace friend request. To answer your question. It would depend upon how well the story was written for me to decide which I like better. I’m open minded that way. As far as my favorite demon I would have to pick the Lorne, the green guy, from Angel. He was just to funny.

My question is basically a two part of the same question. I love your Sarah Dearloy series. I’ve got two of the books from it, Tall, Dark & Fangsome, and Stakes & Stilettos. Can you please tell me what others are in the series and where I can possibly find them? I also loved your Angel with Attitude.

  54. I love when a demon is the hero. My favorite demons are all of the Lords of the Underworld…actually, I guess they are keepers of the demons but oh well.

  61. Hi Michelle! Yay on your awards at RT!

My fav Angels/Demons stories is a book series by Gena Showalter called Lords of the Underworld. Its about angel worriors who opened Pandoras Box and released demons on mankind. Those angels were then charged to house those demons inside their own bodies for all eternity. Its a great series and one of my favs.

I think I like demons more than angels, I guess there’s just something about those bad boys. My favorite demon is Giguhl from Jaye Wells’ Red-Headed Stepchild because he’s quirky and fun, not too scary, and can be helpful to Sabina.

    @Jessica W: Thank you! :)

@Amy G: “1. What paranormal thing do you enjoy writing about the most (vampires, demons, angels, etc.)? 2. Are there paranormal things other than demons, angels, and vampires, that you would like to write about in the future?” — I can’t pick one. They all have elements that make them fun to write. Other than what I’ve written about, I’d love to write about ghosts someday.

@Candy G: Definitely. She’s a classic author in the genre!

@Donna S: “- Your main characters have been angels, demons and vampires. Any plans for a shifter? – What is your favorite part of being a writer? – Do you preplot your stories, or write the story as it comes to you and edit later?” — I have shifters as side characters but no current plans for a main character. Fave part of being a writer is the writing itself, creating new worlds and losing myself in them. I preplot and I also edit later since the first draft is never perfect.

    @Bella F: “-Who is/are your non-demon fictional book character crush(s)?
-Did you always know you wanted to be a writer, or did you just kinda fall into it?” — Non-demon fictional book character crush would probably be Mr. Darcy. I’m old school like that. ;) I always knew I wanted to be a writer from when I was abou 12 years old. I can’t think of anyone who just fell into it. Writing is a whole lot of hard work! :)

@Libby L: “Where is your safe haven

my favorite demon is Cole from TV series ‘Charmed’, I like him as he is so conflicted due to his nature and his love for a witch, and also because he’s sexy:) And as there are many ‘Charmed’ novels, I guess, he’s my favorite book demon as well.

    Now I’d like to ask:

  80. Hi Michelle!
Wellcome back to BBB! I really liked your Immortality Bites series, and I didn’t know you already had a new series out!
To answer your question: angels and demons aren’t right at the top of my paranormal heroes’ list (I still prefer vampires), so I don’t really have a favourite, but between the two of them I’d say demon. Angels have too many rules binding them, and some times they’re so good that they turn out to be feelingless. Demons just seem to come out as more round ad definite characters to me.
I’d like to ask you: I’ve seen on your site that you have another book coming out for Harlequin in Novemer, is it a sequel to Hot Spell, or a stand-alone book?

  83. Hi Michelle~

So far, I have found Angel heros to be more appealing, but I have not read very many Demon novels.

Right now, my favorite is the one from Jaye Wells series, I think his name was Gugoli (Mr. Giggles) If I remember right

I am wracking my brain trying to remember if I’ve even read a book with an Angel or a Demon. I don’t think I have, believe it or not! I do prefer an angel over a demon though…I think. I will say that I loved the good demon that was on Angel…Lorne I think his name was…he was the one that had the psychic karaoke. He was a hoot. I believe I heard that the actor that played him died a few years back. How sad.

My question is: Do you have a favorite classic book and what is it?
