Alain Mobry was a skilled illusionist in the 19th century, specializing in automatons. He was as well known for his work as he was for his unfortunate features: short-statured, homely in appearance, with a clubbed foot. Illusions and real magick are what got Mobry through each day, and he longed to share his greatest creation with the man who captured Mobry’s affections - only he never got his chance. 100 years later, Mobry’s greatest creation, now known as Mobry’s Dick, will be rediscovered to realize its true purpose.

Truth in the Dark by Amy Lane

Amy Lane is the author of the wonderful Little Goddess series. Her latest novel Truth in the Dark is a type of fairy tale — one with the darkness missing in most child fairy stories, but found everywhere in real life. My heart wept for both the heroes.

My Zombie Pride by Stephani Hecht, A. J. Llewellyn, and D. J. Manly

The cover put me off some, but I was pleasantly surprised. These are not normal rotting, flesh-eating, brain-sucking zombies. They have brain power along with their brawn. In addition to zombies, all three stories in this anthology are full of hot gay sex and have good doses of humor. While the sex is described in detail, it is always between caring adults and emotionally-charged. (more…)

This is the final chapter of Lopaka and Kimo’s story. It is told from Lopaka’s father’s Paden’s perspective. It was foretold that Paden would fight the Secret Council for his son; this scared him so he ran away from his destiny. He fell in love with a god, who turned out to be a cruel cannibal. In the last book, Paden chose to sacrifice himself, or a part of himself, to save Lopaka and Kimo’s son, Little Kimo, from the Council. (more…)
