Jonas by Angela Cameron
Author Angela Cameron manages to outdo her previous outstanding entry in her Blood and Sex series with the newest installment, Jonas. Picking up with the same basic cast as the first book and introducing a new, intelligent, strong female lead, Jonas has a good plot, good villains, and, in spite of the series’ title, not enough sex to be overwhelming.
When last seen, second-in-command vampire Jonas was dealing with his attraction to the master’s “compagna” - lover, Tori. Though now the owner of a new, vampire-oriented club, this book finds him in no better state. When the master of the city calls upon him to guard a scientist with knowledge important to the vampire world, , he finds himself interested in protecting her for more than just the serum she can manufacture.
It was an interesting twist that added a lot is the split personality of Jonas. Tempering his more prosaic half is Luciano, a harder-edged personality much less likely to be gentle and caring…and who ends up being quite a bit hotter.
This series comes with a very positive recommendation. Cameron is a talented author with a lot to offer readers, and her gritty vampire world is seductive, tempting.
