Halloween Treats features three Halloween-related stories that definitely rate high on the steam o’meter. Set in a small town, “It’s a Wonderful Fright” by Veronica Wilde is a witchy twist on the classic It’s a Wonderful Life. Frustrated by what seems to be extreme bad luck on the romance front, Willow Van Doren decides to take matters into her own hands when she lands a date with the new hottie in town. After that date is seemingly sabotaged by a scheming rival, Willow turns to dark magic for revenge. Before she has a chance to use it, though, she is visited by a helpful spirit who shows her what her life will be like should she choose that path. How she chooses to exact her revenge will determine what type of person Willow will become.

In AJ Hampton’s “Familiar Magic”, we meet shifter and area enforcer Trenton Gregory. In love with bar owner Samantha Monroe but burnt by an ex-girlfriend, Trent does all he can to avoid Sam. Sam, on the other hand, is a witch about to come into her powers. She only gets them, however, if she mates with Trent on Halloween. Sam has spent the last six months trying to figure out how to tell Trent that he is her familiar. Two days before Halloween, the process is started with a violent fight, some jealousy and just enough sexual tension to speed things along. But with all that happens, it will be Trent’s decision to bind them together forever.

Finally, Tiffany Aaron brings us a relaxing tale of zombies. Wild, sexy PI/Journalist Tarsala Jones is being sued for libel by the conniving sister-in-law of staid businessman Christopher LaRoi. Seems that Tarsala made some comments about zombies that offended some people. With the recent unexplained zombie outbreak, Tarsala is not shy about voicing her opinions. She is also on the trail of the source of the outbreak and is determined to figure it out. Add werewolves, chemistry of all kinds and some very naughty scenes and you get a very well woven story guaranteed to keep you warm on a cold winter’s night.

Halloween Treats is a year-round enjoyment with something for everyone. I really enjoyed these stories and would love to see more of these characters…..ahem….if the authors are so willing. *bats eyelashes innocently*

Kayden and Micah are hunters. They hunt demons, vampires and other assorted paranormal creatures. This is a normal vampire slayer type story, except for the fact that Kayden is partially a vampire.

When the book first starts, there appears to be a lot of hostility between the partners. They can’t ever seem to get along. During one of their hunts, they run into a succubus, who takes over Micah’s body. She doesn’t immediately kill him, because she needs true love’s passion to become a mortal again and experience the emotions that her victims actually feel. The book revolves around breaking the hold of the succubus over Micah - but if it weren’t for the succubus, would Kayden and Micah have discovered their feelings for each other?

Bending to Break is an erotic novel and I found the sex scenes to be well written, and that part of the book really draws the reader in. I did struggle to walk away from the book. However, I would have liked to see the plot develop a little further, such as why Kayden didn’t completely turn, or why she has some traits of a vampire, but not others.

The book left me with some questions as the focus was more on the erotica as opposed to the plot. I did enjoy the chemistry between Kayden and Micah. I also liked the hint at towards a further relationship between Kayden’s cousin Paige and Micah’s brother Elijah. If you’re looking for some good erotica, then this book is definitely for you. With all the sex scenes in the book, though (a scene appears within the first five pages), I would put this book in the adult category.

Steaming hot! Tempting Sin is definitely an 18+ read and contains M/F/M action, if that bothers you. If not, read on!

When I read books for review, typically I don’t read any of the excerpts or information about the book beforehand, although I do have a very general idea of what it is about. I like to go in with a fresh mind and outlook. Well, I had NO idea that this book by AJ Hampton was a sexscapade of epic proportions.

It is a very well written, short erotic paranormal about two vampires, a were tiger and a struggle for ownership of one woman. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
