Had to go with Mark on this one… I think Christopher Moore is the funniest author alive, but despite the supernatural elements in his novels (the Lust Lizard, a demon, vampires) I don’t really consider him to be a “paranormal” author.
Mark, definitely. LMAO funny, too. Plus, he has dogs. At least I’m pretty sure they’re dogs. Each of them weighs about as much as one of my dogs’ heads, but they’re definitely not cats, so that’s good.

Shelly Laurenston is hilarious. I mean who else is going to have a character that is a 5′1″ woman push around a 6′3″, or so, warrior and have the guy enjoy it while every other character is scared to death of her. But I do have to give props to Lora Leigh with her Breed series. The women threaten castration, decapitation, and anything else that comes to their mind. Great fun to read.

And I also agree about Ronda Thompson. I was fortunate enough to meet her once. What a lovely woman and a sad, tragic loss for paranormal romance. Thanks again for including me in the list! I haven’t read them all …yet. So for me it was a toss up between MaryJanice Davidson & Katie MacAlister. Both make me laugh but in the end I had to go with Katie because for me she knocked Janet Evanovich off the long held position of ‘author that most consistently makes me cry with laughter no matter how bad life is’ number one spot. Both MaryJanice & Janet are right up there though & I suspect Angie Fox shall be joining them as soon as I manage to get my hands on one her books. Annette Blair & Jackie Kessler are on my to find list. As for the rest - I have added your names to my list of authors to investigate. Thank you BBB!

Michele Bardsley, Dakota Cassidy, Angie Fox, Katie MacAlister, and Annette Blair?! This is the hardest poll yet! Usually I haven’t read as many of the authors :D
I’d add Shelly Laurenston and Sierra Dafoe’s Shifter Sisters.

The funniest line I can think of off the top of my head is from Lora Leigh’s Megan’s Mark (I know, not exactly who you think of with funny). I can’t quote it verbatim, but the scene goes something like this: the heroine does something dangerous and handled herself just fine since she can kick ass, then the hero, who is a Breed, gets upset because she put herself in danger and as soon as he gets to her he grabs her and bites her on her neck. Then she punches him and says “I said no biting!” I giggle whenever I think of that :P

Jaye Wells (any scene with Mr. Giggles)
Anton Strout (Because Simon’s comments and thought patterns are strangely similar to my snark)

I also love Katie Mcalister’s Aisling Grey books, and have truly had to wipe the laughter tears away, usually because of something Jim the Newfoundland demon has said.

    Congratulations, Mark!
And thanks, guys, for voting. Some of my favorite authors were on the list, and sadly, a few that I haven’t had the pleasure of reading yet (I’m about two years behind on my to-be-read pile), but I am really excited about getting to experience some new authors!
    Thank you, Rachel!

DAKOTA!!! I love that girl so much, and she’s so funny, I made her a character in my vampire series. Caroline, the ex-cheerleader/beauty queen turned smartass witch. :)
