Happy Birthday Most Favored One

Posted under Contests by Site Hostess on Monday 20 July 2009 at 1:22 pm

Hello My pretties, I am the Bitten By Books Prize Goddess.

I give you your entry points.
I can also take them away.

Today, however, I am here to invite you to come join us while we celebrate the Birthday of My Favored One, or as the BBB Team knows her -The Big Bad Boss Lady aka The lovely Rachel.

*Are you surprised yet My Favored One?*

We are having a pre birthday bash for her and you are all invited.  You don’t have to bring presents but you will need to bring your imagination.  Why you ask My pets?  Well, because we are giving you the presents of course.  Is there a catch?

Well of course, I wouldn’t be known as the Prize Goddess if I didn’t put loop holes in there somewhere, right?

Here is how you can enter the Birthday Bash Contest.

You can enter by writing a poem for Rachel for her Birthday.  I, the Prize Goddess will be picking victims, whoops.  Sorry about that.  I will be picking a number of random winners throughout the week for the best poems.  They will receive bags of swag that included bookmarks from many of the authors that have dropped by and other goodies. I have gift certificates to Amazon and many, many delicious books some signed and some not.

We have decided that Rachel herself will pick the grand prize winner of the poem of her choosing, that will win a BIG surprise!

The contest runs from July 20th to July 24th.  The contest will end at midnight PST on Friday July 24th.  That gives you all week to rack brain and come up with something that will get Rachel’s attention.  Just remember, I am a bit harder to win over.

P.S. Rachel’s birthday happens to fall on Wednesday, the 22nd of July. Should you as the reader greet not only Jeaniene Frost in her author event at Bitten By Books, but also say a Happy Birthday to the lovely Rachel, I will personally grant you an extra 50 points for Jeaniene’s contest.

Remember you must greet both Jeaniene and Rachel on Wednesday to get the extra 50.

Blessings and entry points on all of you.

Thus Sayeth, The BBB Prize Goddess.

Rachel, Rachel, you are our queen,
you keep us up to date on the reading scene.

On your birthday, this special day,
We send our love in many ways…

The writer’s, oh how they love to brag,
    Sharing secrets and some swag.

The reviewers, they will talk about you,
saying “she’s the best” and no one else could fill her shoes”

Last the reader, our numbers are great,
and on Bitten By Books we place our reading fate.

So to Rachel, on your special day

She creates her magic under the blanket of darkness
A woman of limitless patience and understanding
And now with the help of the Prize Goddess
We are here to help in her celebrating

At two AM when good boys and girls are abed
Well past the witching hour in the state of KY
    Rachel is tabulating ballots instead
Of cuddling up with her techy Smiley guy.

We all love you Rachel and all that you do
You bring us the authors that we all love to read
Prizes and contests on BBB are all because of you
We win books, kindles and more from the BBB thread

So I say lets raise a glass of blood red wine
To Rachel for your talent and magic
With out you BBB would be hard to define
but…You walk on toilet paper, cause You Are the Shit!!!

Ok the rhyming sucks but I tried…. LOL Thanks again Rachel and I hope you have a Happy and Fun Day….. from the gal who shares her day with Smiley…. :)

  40. Comment by Shell Bryce — July 20, 2009 @ 5:17 pm

Ok I wanted to add that if I could give Rachel anything for her birthday I would first hire an assistant to sort and mail all the books to her devoted reviewer minions. Of course he would be a hunky shifter…. then her personal pilot in her private plane would wisk her away to all the con’s and booksignings her heart desires. Oh and he would be a sexy alien from another galaxy. Then to help her carry all her swag from the signings there would be a big strong vamp at her disposal…. and since I don’t want Smiley to get jealous I would personally offer to take care of all three of their needs and keep them a happy staff.

And for the party I just grabbed my man Kellen. You might remember him from the Biker Witch Party. We are still an item and he can still sling up a mean batch of Long Island Witchtea….. so party started lets keep it going all week long…. :)

    Sonnet #18 (version 2 - obviously!)

Shall I compare thee to a dark and stormy night?
Thou art more terrifying and inspire more fear:
Howling winds do cause havoc with their spite,
And the Storm God’s minions do linger near:
Sometimes too mischievous to heed his plea,
    And oft’ are his true intentions woefully ignored;
Thus rack and ruin befalls the mighty tree,
Despite the threat of his blazing sword:
But thy awful power shall never fade
    Nor lose its grip over those who follow;
Nor shall night-born creatures cease to cower in your shade,
When their souls and their life-blood thou dost swallow:

So long as mortals exist, and bow to thy beauty,
So long will thee triumph — no surprises, you’re a cutie ;-)

Happy Birthday for tomorrow, Most Favored One!

Raonaid- I love Wolf’s Rain, Trigun, Bleach, Naruto, Death Note, and there’s a few others that I can’t remember

Oops! I forgot number ten for my list. Gotta think….here’s one:
    10. I’m German but I hate when there’s just one person that goes, “You’re a Nazi?” I just wanna kill that person who does that.

  61. Comment by Raonaid Luckwell — July 20, 2009 @ 6:09 pm

Oh Rachel, I am so in awe of you… being able to deal with five dachunds. Me I’m just glad for the three.

Rao’s favorite genres: Paranormal, Historical, High Fantasy, and Celtic-era

Rao’s favorite authors: Sherrilyn Kenyon, Mercedes Lackey, Anne Bishop, Joy Nash, Jennifer Roberson, Larissa Ione,Julia Quinn, Suzanne Enoch, Johanna Lindsey, Shana Abe, Sandra Hill, Karen Marie Moning, Lisa Kleypas, Deborah Cooke, Annette Blair, Jean Johnson, Lori Handleland, Eve Silver

10 things people might now know about me

1.) When the mood strikes me, I like to draw but mostly my characters and that of my friends

    2.) Pagan

3.) I collect anything with dragons on them: swords, knickknacks, etc.

4). I have a massive weakness for drows (aka dark elves) I blame that on R.A. Salvatore.

5.) When the mood strikes, I like to work on my stories. I have a WIP that I’ve been working on for six or seven years now.

    6. Suffer from the lack of confidence in all that I do

7.) Raonaid, my alias, is scots gaelic for “Rachel” Hehe. Thought Rachel would like to know that.

8.) I’m fascinated with druids (not the DnD kind but the Celtic kind)

    9.)I’m a very finicky eater

    10.) I’m totally in lust/love over Kenyon’s were-bear Dev peltier. LOL

  62. Comment by Raonaid Luckwell — July 20, 2009 @ 6:10 pm

Third time was the charm. Emma, Wolf’s Rain was great, so wasn’t Trigun. If you like Trigun you’d love Hellsing and Gungrave. I’m currently watching Trinity Blood.

I soooo wanted one but we couldn’t find any pure-bred ones near me. So instead I got my fat beagle/yorkie/doxie, Shadow. Fat or not, he’s a dork and a total sweetheart.

I love Fantasy, Sci Fi, & Paranormal.
Some of my favorite Authors are
    Zenna Henderson,
    Robert A. Heinlein,
    Anne McCaffrey,
    Mercedes Lackey,
    Piers Anthony,
    Terry Pratchett

things you don’t know about me
I’m the oldest of 8 children, the youngest is 12 yrs. younger than I am.
I knew my 1st hubby 3 yrs., was married at 19 & stayed with him for 5 miserable years. Separated in May,1976.
I met my second hubby in Aug., divorced in Oct. & married him the week before Christmas & have been married for 33 yrs this Dec.
I believe the Arc came here from Mars and we are all the survivors.
I Believe God has many names and faces & I don’t believe Jesus belong to the Aryan Nation.
I told my husband I wanted A lap dog, we now have 2 lab pups. He’s such a confused person & my 2 cats aren’t very happy. But I love my fur babies!
    I’m a bit empathic.

Now for the poem, I wrote this a few years ago, but no one has seen or read it, until now. I dedicate it to you Rachel in honor of your birthday

    Lunacy

    Wicked wonder, a child’s delight,
Shimmering madness on a moonlit night.
Soaring through a cloud flicked sky,
    Invisible to the elder’s eye.

    A child’s laughter, a fleeting sound,
Reveals itself as a baying hound.
Singing to the moon from atop a mound,
It’s master’s body never to be found.

A leering face, a knurly hand,
Your heart races, Is it beast or man?
The pack takes flight with you as its goal,
The chill of fright freezes your very soul.

    I hope you enjoyed it,
    Sharon K.

    9. Married for 37 yrs – that 1st blind date was a winner.
    10. Love to watch the wildlife around our home – bear, dear, raccoons, ducks, pileated woodpeckers, hummingbirds…everything but the rattlers and copperheads.

Okay maybe my poem wasn’t the greatest so how about a joke. Okay stop me if you heard this one. How do you make a tissue dance? Give up….Put a little boogie into it. Ha ha ha! I slay myself! (cricket, cricket) Ah tough crowd!

  118. Comment by M.L. Lewis — July 21, 2009 @ 2:08 pm

So fair is the air that
    surrounds you;

    like an aura of blessing
    free and caressing.

    A youngin so longing to
    play;so graceful is your
    beauty’s display.

    So another year has come,
    and went; ageless time when
    well spent, and your beauty
    tells no lies, the devious
    child behind those eye’s.

Now is a time for celebration,
of all your hard work, and de-
    termination.

    On that note I’d like to say;

    Happy Birthday, Rachel!!!!

Poetry isn’t my thang but I felt inspired, so here goes -

Howls of werewolves pierce the night,
as nations of vampires suspend their fight
and teams of demon hooves stream t’wards the light
where countless candles burn so bright…
honoring Goddess Rachel and her Review Site with Bite.

Wishing you special happiness on your birthday and good things every day of the coming year!

  121. Comment by Carmen R — July 21, 2009 @ 8:30 pm

I am not a poet but just for your bday I gave it a try

Out of the darkness they come to you
    Fangs, claws even demonic goo
    Looking unsure they glance about
When they come most people scream and shout
A vampire steps up with eyes of red
My Lady are you not scared you’ll soon be dead
Why would I fear you I have read your tales
I know each of you very well
Come in, come in, and Now do as you’re told
You’re all welcome in my humble abode

Happy early birthday, Rachel! I suppose, depending what part of the country you’re in, that might not even be an early birthday wish. I’ll definitely be back with a poem later, but for now I’ll tackle Rachel’s questions!
Some of my favorite authors are
    Charles de Lint
    Elizabeth Peters/Barbara Michaels
    Kelley Armstrong
    Diana Wynne Jones
    Jacqueline Carey
    Rob Thurman
    Kim Harrison
    Sheri S. Tepper
    Christopher Moore
    Maria V. Snyder
    Jeri Smith-Ready
    Ann Aguirre
Umm, things you don’t know about me. Well, I don’t think anyone here knows much about me at all!
    1. I am finishing up a PhD in ancient history. Of course, I’ve been finishing it up for an awfully long time—got to get that dissertation done!
    2. I can read French, German, Classical Greek, and Latin—all of them are necessary for my major. French is the only one I really speak, whereas German is my weakest.
    3. I love to belly dance! I’m not sure I’m good at it, even after doing it for years, but it’s a really fun way to exercise.
    4. When I was ten, I walked home from school backwards, just to see whether I could.
    5. I want to be a published author, and am working on two novels set in the future.
    6. I volunteered for and had a poem published in the anthology, Nothing But Red, which was reviewed here quite awhile ago.
    7. I own over 2000 books.
    8. I worked at bookstores for six years. Hm—do you think there’s a connection between numbers 7 and 8?
    9. I love to make beaded jewelry.
    10. I also love to knit and crochet. I taught myself because the winters are so long and cold here in Minnesota that I thought it would be a morale boost if I had some pretty scarves and hats to wear. And it is!
    Again, best wishes, Rachel!

    Poem:
    Amidst balloons and confetti
    Can be seen someone pretty

    With a face that’s alight
Due to a book that has a bite

That she had found and took a break from reading
When she came here and found a surprise feeding*

Thrown for her on her birthday
And, oh, what a wonderful day

    It is for all involved
But especially for our wonderful lady -
who is definitely worth her weight in gold

(* Only word I could come up with (blushes))

A few of my favorite authors (not a complete list & in no particular order):
    Sherrilyn Kenyon
    David Gibbins
    Steve Berry
    Suzanne Brockmann
    Mary Jo Putney
    Christine Feehan
    Thomas Greanias
    Dan Brown
    Anne McCaffrey
    Julie Garwood

Ten things that are unknown about me:
    1. I still have all my notes from HS/college (and yes, I do reference them)
    2. I like to cross-stitch
    3. Self taught knitter - working on the crocheting
    4. I like most genres of music (one or two I won’t listen to voluntarily)
    5. Presented (once) at a Historian’s conference in DC (would love to do it again)
    6. Used to be a volunteer in local library
    7. Own about 800 books (that’s a number I am sure of, safe bet that number is much, much higher)
    8. I have sarcasm that can sometimes masquerade as wit
    9. I like to write (have gotten to point where I’ve finally taken the plunge and started submitting)
    10. If given the choice, I prefer to write long-hand rather than on PC (though both have pros and cons)

A shot of Jack should do the trick
and help me write a poem real quick

So off I go to find a bar
Now where did I put the keys to my car?

Oh wait! I’ve got some in the fridge!
    A triple shot won’t hurt a smidge

A poem for Rachel I must write
her day of birth to celebrite

    Oops…CELEBRATE….hiccup…..my bad
How many shots have I now had?

    Rachel Rachel is our queen
She’s hip to the paranormal scene

She always goes the extra mile
She sends great books that make me smile

And so today I send my love
while I thank the stars above

    For BBB and Rachel too
and all the great things that she do

    Uh..DOES I mean and ……oh Wow
I think I need to pass out now……….

Happy Birthday Rachel!! Love ya much!

    Readers everywhere
    Flock to Bitten by Books.
A love of books they share.
    Here they get first looks.

    The question remains
    Where would we be
    Without your brains.
You help us all to see
    What book enchains
    The reader amply.

    The authors come to blog
    And to grant us treasures.
We are not left in a fog.
    The prizes are beyond measures.

    Today is your day.
    The demons, ghouls and vampires
    Are asked to stay away
    Or their nightmares will transpire.
Our heroes and heroines will portray
All their powers in every way.

    May you, “My Favored One”
    Have peace, love, and light
And all that you have chosen
On your special day and night.

    Happy Birthday, Rachel

As far as giving Rachel a gift with unlimited funds:
    1. A day at a spa
    2. A vacation anywhere
    3. Her favorite meal cooked by a celebrity chef of her choice
    4. All her wishes come true

  133. Comment by Margie — July 22, 2009 @ 6:48 am

Happy, Happy Birthday Rachel! May the best day of your past be the worse day of your future! May all of Birthday wishes come true!

  134. Comment by Dianne — July 22, 2009 @ 6:57 am

As for authors, there are so many good ones out there that it is hard to choose just 10.

What you don’t know about me:

    1. I am of Welsh ancestry.
    2. I like to cook and bake.
    3. I have 21 birds and two dogs.
    4. I am only 44 but have eight stepchildren, one son, 12 grandchildren, and a great granddaughter. (My first hubby was much older.)
    5. I am an aspiring writer.
    6. I collect anything with fairies.
    7. I am disabled by multiple health issues, but I try not to let them win.
    8. I also collect anything with dragonflies.
    9. I am challenged by living with three males.
    10. I am a SURVIVOR!

    Happy official birthday today!

    Ten things about me:

    1. You guys probably know I write fiction, comics, and reviews, but I also write reference book entries.
    2. I am a compulsive book buyer.
    3. I work part time at a library.
    4. I am a transplant to Shoreline Connecticut and a total beach convert.
    5. I spent my summers as a kid visiting family on Lake Michigan.
    6. I grew up in Iowa.
    7. When I was in college, I took belly dancing classes.
    8. I am a total blueberry snob. Those Maine berries are way too small and tart.
    9. Although I lost most of my unicorn trinkets that I had growing up, I’ve managed to keep several of the dragons safe and sound.
    10. I used to do the Powwow circuit to watch the dancing and eat good fry bread.

As for writers — I like far too many! (see #2 above)

    Happy Birthday Rachel!
Wish you get all the things that you want.
I suck at writting and I don’t like to talk about myself. I prefer to read about other people. My computer went up in flame and I had to go to a friend just to be able to wish you HB! and to thank you for your wonderful site. I see from all the messages here that you will be pretty busy for the next hours ;). Happy Birthday! and lots of cake to you.

  140. Comment by Raonaid Luckwell — July 22, 2009 @ 8:29 am

Yeah, though I wished you a happy birthday on facebook, but I am a firm believer of going place to place (myspace, here, goodreads, twitter, etc) to drop birthday wishes. My friends started this on one of my birthdays. It never fails, when you visit each place, to see those birthday wishes.

Happy Birthday Rachel! Do hope the day is a good one. Hope you are being catored, pampered as you should.

Hello, Jeaniene. Hello and Happy Birthday, Rachel. Ladies, this one is for you! (Rarely do poetry, but I’ll take a shot at anyone…er, anything for fun. ;) ):

She who warms my nights with laughter.
She who brightens my dark day with joy.
She who enlightens me with tales of darkness and fright.
She who lifts me up when sorrow’s at my door.
She who amuses me with humor of lore.
She who appeases the gods for all without hope.
She who enjoys life and shares all she is and will be.
She who gives more and expects nothing less.
She who asks only for the simplest things.
    She…WHO MUST BE OBEYED!

(Blatant shout-out to Leo McKern and his signature character, Rumpole of the Bailey. I have a soft spot for the old fellow. I hope you do too.)

Many Happy Returns, Rachel. Hope you like the poem. Hope you’ll have a great birthday.

  143. Comment by Kimberly B. — July 22, 2009 @ 10:31 am

    Voila, a poem!:

On this most joyous day of her birth
Full of revelry, mayhem, and mirth
Let us suitably honor the lass
    Who governs this site with such class;
By Rachel we all have been smitten
    Since by love of books she’s been bitten;
    With interviews, contests, and fun
She has made our fair site number one!
With reviews that we know we can trust
    A BBB visit’s a must
For the lover of vamp, witch, and fey
    Though I have one complaint—if I may?
Thanks to you—and this book lover’s greed—
I have so many books now to read
And my TBR pile is so high
That I fear it is taller than I!
    —-
    (Keep ‘em coming, though!)
Happy birthday, Rachel, and thanks for all you do for this site!

  144. Comment by Nancy Gilliland — July 22, 2009 @ 10:42 am

    Rachel, Rachel, full of grace
    Your presence is so fine
You bring us in to see your place
Where there is so much that’s just divine.

    You call us all
    To visit and chat
    Spring, summer, winter or fall
    BBB is where its at!

Happy Birthday Rachel, and many more.

  145. Comment by Amanda L — July 22, 2009 @ 10:49 am

I hope you are having a wonderfully fantastic birthday Rachel!!

    I’ll first answer your questions.
My favorite authors more pertaining to this site are Richelle Mead, Stephenie Meyer, L.J. Smith, Cassandra Clare, P.C. Cast, Gena Showalter, and Karen Marie Moning.

But, I have a ton of authors I know I’ll love in my TBR pile like JR Ward, Jeanine Frost, Tanya Huff, Stephen King, James Rollins, Rachel Vincent, MaryJanice Davidson, Laurell K Hamilton, Rachel Caine, Anya Bast, and Yasmine Galenorn….wow, that list is long and it doesn’t even include everyone lol.

All time favorite authors in all genres and include JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, LM Montgomery, Shakespeare, and Anne McCaffrey (I know I’m leaving out a few important ones hmm…)

Alright, and 10 things about me:
    1) I have cds ranging from the Lion King soundtrack to Slayer to instrumental to Scottish music to rap
    2) I tend to cry more at movies involving animals than people, which is why I don’t watch very many movies about animals
    3) I still cry at movies even when I’ve read the book and know what’s going to happen
    4) I was in my school choir
    5) I secretly loved D&D even though NONE of my friends were into it
    6) singing and dancing are my favorite things to do
    7) I am a complete science nerd
    8) I am embracing a whole new way of life centered on yoga, meditation, and eating naturally.
9)I hate pink (which I always blamed on my mom dressing me in nothing but pink when I was a kid), though my room is a terribly ugly color of pink…I really need to paint.
    10) Some of my dreams come true right down to what people are saying.

And I think I’ll have to come back to the poem later when I’m feeling a little more creative.

I’ll spare you from my poetry as I’m a little bit rusty.

And I was told I couldn’t do the old standby of

    Its Rachel’s birthday

  160. Comment by Arlene — July 22, 2009 @ 1:56 pm

Happy Anniversary, of the natal type.
Ignore the hoopla & the hype,
Growing old means pains & aches,
    Joints & organs becoming fakes.
Outside, you get all worn and wrinkly,
And bits that shouldn’t, go tinkly,
Even though you’re young inside your head.
With all that, it’s still better than being dead.

Can you tell that I had my 40th recently? Enjoy your birthday. It’s loads of fun and hopefully everyone around you will indulge you shamefully and spoil you rotten.

Okay I have never been good at writing anything but especially poetry so I am going to go back to elementary school for this….

Roses are red, and sometimes black
Rachel is the one who keeps us all coming back.
With baited breath we all wait. To see who she brings up to the plate.

It is terrible I know, but it is the thought that counts. Right?

    Happy Birthday Rachel!!!
Thank You for everything you do for us!

  177. Comment by Sarai P. — July 22, 2009 @ 7:47 pm

Oh there once was a girl from… ah, no, I’d better try something else, lol.

(yes, you can already tell this is going to be really, really, bad :P)

It all started with a text.
“Can you check out my site?” you said, just as I was going to bed.
    Now this had me perplexed,
    Nevertheless, I said yes.

The rest, as they say, was history.
Or maybe that should be a mystery.
I entered the world of reviewing with you at my side,
A trusty guide into this wild ride.

    E-books became second nature,
Vampires, Shapeshifters, and Ghouls second hand,
But nothing prepared me for the demand.

A lot of things most try to conceal, nothing is sacred, nothing unreal.
We review it all, even the extreme.
How do we feel, what is the appeal?
    Is it worth our esteem?

But wilder things aside, this has been a wonderful ride.
Full of laughter, friends, family, and more.
    But I have to confide…
The jokes about stories that turn into a bore,
But alas! Too much info did you provide.

Happy day of your birth, dearest friend

Happy Birtday, Rachel. Here’s an ode to you…

Who’s the sultry lady with her finger on the pulse…
of all thing paranormal, vampiric and such?
You must mean sexy Rachel with the dreamy eyes and lips…
she emits a world of goonies from her calloused fingertips.

Many happy returns from an author who appreciates all you do!

Sorry to arrive to the party late. I’ve been fighting off the flu and 103 fever so the creative juices just weren’t flowing. But I come with Thyme with honey tea and ginger biscuits along with a basket of vitamin B, magnesium, willow bark, fennel and peppermint and a pack of gorgeous shapeshifters to administer any antidote those who have partied to hearty may need. Let me apologize if they try to lick your face, those pesky shifters think that cures everything. The things we must put up with to have their fabulous bodies to play with.

Rachel, my dear I have written you a poem. I’m very out of practice and usually only write poems that rhyme but I know you are worth the effort…

    The Enchanted Book of Rachel

As I opened the cover of the ancient tome,

Darkness seeped out like a fog spreading across the moors,

Long inky fingers reaching out to pull me in,

Enveloped in black mist, a sensual voice beckons,

BBB Goddess whispers, “Come and celebrate

The birth anniversary of our sentient nymph.”

Night lifts as I seek the melody of giggles.

Propped on a sea of pillows with her five winged dogs,

    Surrounded by devilishly handsome demons,

Seductive shifters, virile vampires, gorgeous ghosts,

And her ever loyal bibliophile beauties.

All are enraptured by Rachel’s exquisite charms.

There is decadent food, dancing, stories and games,

The endless reveling goes on for days and nights,

Pooped I recline on her bank of pillows and rest,

Alas, I awake, my head on the winsome tome,

Faintly, Rachel’s laughter wafts from the spellbound pages,

I close it until the next Bitten By Books Rave.

Hope you like it Rachel, it’s been some time since I did metered prose.

I’ll try to come back in a bit and give you my list.

I will admit that poetry and me do not go together, and after a week full of work travel, I find my mind totally empty, but I do not want to let this important celebration go without my thoughts….even though they don’t rythme.

    To Rachel on her birthday,
I just want to say thank you for all the work you do for BBB. Thanks to you, I have rediscovered my love of reading and meet so many wonderful authors. I have a list of books so long to read, that grows by the day, that it may take until retirement or more to get everything done. My gift to you is my thanks for all you do, and for being a good friend. Happy Birthday Rachel, you rock!!!

I was going to skip the poem & list since I wished Rachel a Happy Birthday earlier, but I figure I got my sister into doing this so I should too..even though I can’t write to save my life.
    Authors..long list.. Anne McCaffrey,Mercedes Lackey, Dave Duncan, Terry Brooks,Laurel K. Hamilton, L.A.Banks,Janet Evanovich,Kim Harrison,J.R.Ward,S.J.Day & on & on
    10 things.. yikes
    1. I’m the 12yrs younger SAMK mentioned
    2. I’ve gone repelling w/ the Army’s Air Assault instructors in Hawaii & have a pair of wings :)
    3. I hate shopping esp. for clothes
    4. I’ve turned down 2 marrage proposals,3 offers for live-ins & 4 for sugar daddies…
    5. I attract weird kids, human freaks & animals w/medical problems
    6. I read alot but I don’t keep any books but ebooks.
    7. I’ve worked w/ & trained animals from cats & dogs to cattle, horses & pigs to elephants, giraffe & lions.
    8. I can paint except walls…
    9. I can’t cook & hate to clean
    10. my self assurance if a mask
Know my try at poetry.. LOL..Don’t gag Rachel..

As the light dies down, the shadows play; and the candle light comes to life.
As the wax drips down, blood red runs onto white
As smoke swirls a sound can be hear, but it doesn’t sound quite right.
As the breeze increases, the breath of the favored one
It’s all to the Goddess’s delight.
As the darkness returns , the sound reverbs; not a whisper..
but a shout of delight.. “Happy Birthday Rachel” is hear far in near
May you continue to rule the night.

    Happy B-day.
    iokijo.. Jo Ann J
