Blood of the Dark Moon by Adrianne Brennan
Amanda is a devotee of the god Apollo who sometimes sends Amanda dreams that often come true. She is also a student at NYU studying ancient Greece.
Jesse lives with his clan, The Order of the Dragon and the Rose, in a large estate. He was born in 1936 but looks as if he is in his late 20s or early 30s thanks to being a vampire.
Amanda is to meet a stranger at a coffee house to talk about ancient Greece. She is surprised to find a handsome man instead of the stuffed shirt she was expecting. They talk over coffee about religion and their beliefs. Jesse feels like he has known Amanda before; she reminds him of someone, but he can’t put his finger on it. He wants to make her his, but if she finds out what he is, they both could be killed to keep the secret of The Order.
Blood of the Dark Moon started out pretty complicated with all the magic jargon. Adrianne Brennan wove a fascinating and imaginative story with Jesse and Amanda as her main characters. Amanda had been searching for that certain someone that had the same beliefs and ideas as she did and finally finds him in Jesse. Amanda and Jesse both were built up in the story as it went, and you could feel them changing for the better. At first, Jesse came across as impulsive, but you understand him more and what his motives are as the story progresses.
