Brianna does not have faith in her abilities as a witch, so when an absolutely gorgeous man shows up in her house, she wonders if she can make the demon go back to where he came from. One little snag, he will not let her send him back. Asmodeous has spent an eon in the Abyss, being punished for his transgressions and will do anything to keep from going back. He also has a little bit of a grudge against one of the head angels, Michael. Since Brianna summoned him, he thinks she will be able to summon Michael. Neither he nor Brianna plan to fall for each other, but they do. Ultimately, Brianna thinks she will sacrifice what she has to in order to keep Asmodeous out of the Abyss. Will love prevail, or will Brianna and Asmodeous spend eternity being tormented?
I give this book 4 tombstones. The story that is woven in Dawn McClure’s second book in the Fallen Angel series is a completely different one than was spun in Azazel. Ms. McClure still brings out the elements of humor in the book, but the love story is much sweeter and deeper than what was developed in the her previous book. Asmodeous is also a thought provoking book that involves some interesting biblical elements, as well as love and sacrifice.
The storyline had many interesting characters from Brianna and Asmodeous to Brianna’s best friend Kelly and the fanged sluts. I found myself laughing out loud during parts of the story (I especially found the fanged sluts amusing). Asmodeous is a great addition to Dawn McClure’s Fallen Angel series. Each book can be read independently of the other, but if you have not tried either book yet, then I think that the Fallen Angel series is well worth adding to your reading list.
