Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
Since she was small, Aislinn could see the fae, and since she was small, she has known the rules: don’t interact with them. All she wants is to be a normal seventeen year old: go to school, hang out with her friends, and be with the one person who makes her feel special, her best friend, Seth. But all that is starting to unravel beneath her feet when the faeries start persuing her and trying to speak directly to her. She can’t stop herself from feeling drawn to the wickedly handsome Keenan, the fae’s summer king who believes she is his queen. What path will Aislinn choose? And will Summer bloom once again, or will Winter’s chill take hold forever?
Melissa Marr delivers beautifully spun prose within this 21st century faerie tale of love, temptation, and deception. The reader is left turning page after page, wondering where the story will lead them and which secrets will be revealed. A wonderful story for readers aged 16-60 who will enjoy getting drawn into the world of Faerie just as much as I did.

There is so much more to be said about this book. Marr weaves together a tale of tragic love that can’t be fulfilled and duty that must be met. There is such a passionate energy to this book that it blew me away. I just finished it yesterday and had to stop myself from grabbing “Ink Exchange” immediately. I had to sleep sometime. Seriously, if you love the lyrical prose and bizarre worlds of writers like Charles De Lint, grab this book. You simply will not be disappointed!

Personally I liked Ink Exchange more though a lot of people disagree with me. I can’t wait to get my hands on Fragile Eternity.

The last novel Fragile Eternity really saddened me–not that it wasn’t brilliantly written, but what Aislinn did really hurt Seth and me, since I am sympathetic towards him. It was amazing that Seth decided to become part fae, even if he couldn’t see Aislinn for so long. But he did it for her and she was on the verge of falling for Keanan. I personally don’t like Keanan. He’s all flashy and doesn’t really care for Aislinn, only the fact that they have a bond, as he loves the one winter fae. I can only hope that in the next installment to this series that Aislinn’s relationship with Seth is righted once more. Because in Fragile Eternity I spent the whole time crying over how Seth and Aislinn were drifting apart, especially how in the beginning when Seth couldn’t even see or understand the fae, and couldn’t even defend himself against them because they were so strong.
End of Spoiler! *****
But above all, I loved the change of scenery in this series from Vampires, and such, because even as I like them, the authors and publishers are just beating a dead horse and soon enough no one will want to read vampire books.
