Ancient Inheritance by Rita Vetere
Catherine has been lucky in life. She has always had her Grandfather there for her, and always known love. She has always had a good sense of right and wrong, good and evil. Listening to what her Grandpa calls her guardian angel’s voice, that inner voice that gives advice, she has done well in life. But when the voice goes silent- what is she supposed to do?
Sammael has been searching for over 2000 years for an item that will help him rule the Earth. In a bid to fully release his powers he is willing to do whatever it takes to find his treasure. And if people have to die in the process so much better!
In a bid between good and Evil, Heaven and Hell, a young woman and the world is in peril. Unknowingly Cat has what Sammael is looking for. But how can she protect what she knows nothing about? How can she protect herself from an evil that she never imagined to be real?
Rita Vetere has taken a religious artifacts mystery and given it a new life. The characters are full life; with love, laughter, innocence, faults, warts, and all. While you are with one character, as with real life, the world continues for the rest of her cast. The smooth transitions between characters viewpoints were artistically done. I enjoyed how Cat was resilient and equally enjoyed the nastiness of Sammael. It was intriguing read. If you are looking for a paranormal based in mysteries of the Christian religion, then this is the tale for you!
