Kitty Raises Hell by Carrie Vaughn
Kitty Norville is back in her most exciting adventure yet, a continuation of her Las Vegas tribulations in Kitty and the Dead Man’s Hand. Her temporary defeat of the vampire priestess was just that, a non-permanent solution, and trailing her back to Denver is a fire-creature bent on destroying Kitty and her Pack. She is far from alone, however, the crew of a paranormal television series backs her up, as well as new husband Ben and her vampire allies.
This is my favorite Kitty book to date, and I adored how the vampire intrigue plotlines of the previous books continued through to Kitty Raises Hell. The “villain” is one of the best yet, inscrutable and nebulous in motives, as is the maybe-ally, Roman, who offers his assistance to the Pack Alpha and Denver’s master vampire, Rick.
Better than amazing writing from one of the best writers in the paranormal genre, this book will blow you away. Perfect marks for Kitty and Carrie Vaughn.

Okay, now who is Roman? I feel like I should know who he is, but his character is escaping me at the moment. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book. I heard Cormac shows up in this one or maybe it’s the next one.
I am so excited to read this book. The vampire priestess storyline is great, and I’d love to see where it goes. I’d also like to read more about Kitty’s restaurant and how it welcomes all weres. Now that you’ve mentioned how awesome the villain is, I can’t wait to read it for myself!
On one of my bookclub websites, they can’t say enough about the Kitty books and Carrie Vaugh. I have her first few books on order and I am waiting (im)patiently for them! I can’t wait to experience what the other readers have found out for themselves. I just wish I hadn’t waited so long to read them!
This book does sound particularly delicious especially when the villian is described as “inscrutable and nebulous in motives”. Can’t get much better than that.
O.K. now you did it! I have Kitty and the Dead Man’s Hand but haven’t read it the second I got it because I was trying to finish another complete series first. NOW, I am going to have to read it so that when I get to Raises Hell, I will know what your talking about with the Vegas stuff. The new guy Roman sounds intriguing as does the fire creature!! Can’t wait to see how Kitty and gang kick it’s butt!
Paranormal TV series crew? Now that sounds interesting. And an awesome villian and maybe ally? Yummy.
I cannot wait for this book! Kitty on TV again? The should be exciting. What I’m most excited for though is seeing more of Kitty and Ben being the alphas of the pack! We haven’t seen too much of that since she outed the old ones.
Oh my! I have all but the last two releases, and this just makes it that more imperative that I get them! I really wonder what has been up with Cormac! Roman, hmmm a delkicious new hottie?
Got the two first books but have not read them yet waiting to get the rest of them before i read them.but thay all sound coolhope to get the rest of them soon.the last one says that a fire creature is out to get her and her alpha pack sounds cool and the wedding of to of her pack in Kitty and the dead mans hand sounds cool two.wish i had all of them for i could read them.
I agree I can not wait to get my hands on this book. I love Kitty. I am definitely going to have to find my copies of the series so I can re-read them and be ready for the newest.
The review here has just whetted my appetite!
Carrie - thanks for such great reads!
While I haven’t read all of Ms. Vaughn’s books to date, I have noticed they tend to be action packed - which is always a good thing.
Looks like I need to get caught up on the series and quick because “Kitty Raises Hell” is definitely going on my “to be read” list!
