Embracing the Darkness by Shiela Stewart
Raven has been a blood slave to a vampire named Chaos for the last few months. Before that, she was a nurse and mother. Now she is lost.
Jonah Moore is a computer nerd through and through. He used to own his own business with his wife before she was killed and the vampires took over. Now he is broken and does not know how to go on.
The year is 2025 in Jacob’s Cove. The town is in darkness and will be until Chaos is found and eliminated. Chaos had freed the king of the vampires so that he could take over again and rule by his side. He did not expect Basil, the vampire prince, Trinity and their gang of misfits to use the queen to send him away. To get back at Trinity, Chaos captures Jonah and tortures him so he will confess where the rest are hiding. Jonah does not care if he lives or dies after losing his wife…that is until an angel with blue eyes rescues him.
It was nice to see all the characters together again in Embracing the Darkness. I think that Jonah and Raven are my favorites so far. You know how painful it is to lose someone so close to you after reading Jonah’s story - how that one person can make you see things differently and keep trying. Jonah had been hurt so badly in book two, Desiring the Darkness, but this book showed that he could heal and move on. Raven was a wonder with all her patience. How she did it, I will never know. They found a connection to each other in losing a loved one. I think they both healed one another. I suggest a box of Kleenex while reading this book.
