Mistletoe High by Alexis Fleming
Mistletoe High is a trio of short stories written by Alexis all centered around the Christmas season. There is nothing ordinary about these stories besides for high running libidos and lots of fun.
In “Santa’s Feast” Kiki returns to her home in the Australian outback for Christmas. At home she finds her parents have invited a visitor to spend the holiday with them, a visitor from another planet! Her job debunking alien sightings has her refusing to admit Gaylon’s true roots. Gaylon has been sent to Earth to track down the family of his planet’s ruler’s brother. When his ship has problems he is forced to crash land and in the crash his nutrient supply is damaged. Without food he will die, his food substitute? Lust, more exactly the release of energy from sexual indulgence, and Kiki becomes the object of his hunger.
“Santa’s Bag” is a take on the lesson Scrooge learns in ‘A Christmas Carol’. The players include a rent-a-Santa, Jake, and an elf, Belle. When they get locked in the mall after hours Belle uses the time to heat up ‘Santa’s Grotto’ the site of Santa’s show in the mall and show Jake the truth of his selfish ways by taking him back in time as well as to the future. With Jake’s eyes open and his heart set to change his ways Belle’s work is done, though she’s sad to see this Santa leave. Imagine her surprise when Santa, Jake, gives her the best present of all.
“Mistletoe High” is a riot and a half! Never before have you seen Santa, his reindeer, or his elves cast in such a light. When Christmas is outlawed across Earth there are only a few places they can go to live and work. Misty Toll, a half elf/half human is in charge of a deer farm in Australia where visitors can come to see the animals and a few of the reindeer are hidden there as well. In secret the elves have been planning for a coup, funded by the sales of illegal mistletoe juice. When Zane arrives as the new hired hand things heat up for Misty, but can she keep all the balls she’s juggling in the air long enough for the coup to be successful? Zane is man enough for Misty but his identity and purpose for being on the farm conflict with her plans. Only time will tell whether they can work together.
The sizzle factor was HOT! and I haven’t laughed so much in quite a while. This read is definitely worth the time. You may just find yourself wishing the stories went on a bit longer. Consider sharing this with the significant other in your life during the holiday season.
