The Clash by Crystal Kauffman
Robert Almaden hates vampires. His son, Matthew, was changed into one of their kind when he was only nineteen, cursed never again to walk in the sun. Years later, Robert seeks his son again, hoping to see him in spite of their extreme differences. The quest leads him to Romania, but in searching for his son, he encounters Cvetelina, a beautiful vampire female, and Amelie, her lover, and the game begins to change. No longer is his son the only thing in the foreign country Robert cares about, but his involvement with Cvetelina might aid him in his search - which turns out more perilous than he ever could have imagined.
This was a nice story. Ms. Kauffman did an exceptional job describing her settings and making the reader get a taste of her characters’ surroundings. She brings a great Romanian feel to the novella. I felt like the romance itself also developed naturally; it never felt forced or formulaic.
I hope to go back and read the other two books in the series. This is a really good erotic vampire story, and I hope to read more of this universe.
