45 Plus FREE Books! FREE Friday! Woot!

Posted under Articles, Kindle, e-books by Rachel on Friday 25 June 2010 at 4:55 pm

So, it looks like Amazon added 44 new free titles in the Kindle store, all short stories or novellas from publishers Ellora’s Cave and Cerridwen Press.  All are romance, with some degree of poonannery erotica, so be sure to read the descriptions on the Amazon page. Now before you CRY and say you don’t have an e-reader you can download Kindle for PC, Mac and more by going here to the Kindle Free Reading Applications Page. This is totally FREE people. You can download thousands of freebies, you can also buy books if you want to. But the best news I have heard all damn year is that they have FINALLY lowered the price on the Kindle. It is even lower than the NOOK (who lowered their prices too)!

Yes, you too can now pretty much afford it, or at least save for it! $189.00! I remember paying out the bum for my Kindle 1 and 2. It was worth it because I loved them both. But now you all can join me. NOW please. LOL Anyways, I spent the afternoon going through all of these to find the paranormal titles, and looking at the others. All of them are quick reads and most of them look pretty good. There are a couple of Sci-Fi types. Some are spin offs of current series (not many). But it looks as if everything can be read as a stand alone. Since these are so short they are perfect to read on your PC without eye strain or at work on a break or even your phone. Besides, free books are better than a sharp poke in the eye with a stick any day…. just sayin’.  Are you still here? Hit IT bibliophiles! LOL

Oh and when you are done, come back and tell me what you picked, I want to know! Of course you know I only got the paranormals. he he he

Thanks for the post! I can be such a smutty PR/UF/Fantasy e-reader, so this is great! I totally just threw myself under the bus with that confession didn’t I?! LOL! I don’t have a kindle (yet), but I do use the Mac kindle software and it works just great! I also use the B&N Nook e-reader software, which works well as well!

I’m actually thinking about starting a weekly meme that highlights w/reviews, cheaper priced ebooks. What do you think about that?

Thanks again. I’ll be bookmarking this blog page and will stop back!

Don’t worry we are here to pull you out from under that bus. I say memes who needs them. Just read and enjoy the books and leave the reviews to everybody else. Too many books! ENJOY yourself girl!

I just added a handful more to the top of the list. I have no idea how long most of these will stay on the free list. They come and go. Some last months, some days. So get them while you can.

whoop!! Thank you so much! I picked most of the paranormal, some of them I already had, I must have found them last month, but haven’t read them yet. Some of the other titles I picked were Take Me, Her very special robot, (with a title like that how can u pass?), eland, & erotique. so that gives me some special reading, can’t wait. thanks again! :)

This is so cool. I found the Rachel Vincent title on my own a couple of weeks ago, but having a whole list compiled for me on my favorite book review site is just way too convenient. Thank you!

I was so excited by this list of recommendations that I immediately downloaded the Kindle ap for my iPhone and…. Looks like this offer might only apply to those in the US. Amazon recognizes me as a customer from the Asia/Pacific region and is, shall we say, making it difficult. Some of the titles are “not available” to me. And others are showing actual prices, making me loathe to attempt a download. *sniffs & makes sad face* Looks like I need to upstakes and move to the US.

Yeah don’t download if it has a price. Like I said some won’t be forever.

I love technology, but not when it comes to the sacred art of reading. ;-) I just can’t get over having the weight and feel of an actual book in my hand. The aesthetic elements, the smell of the pages …. I try reading eBooks and it seems so cold and impersonal that I lose interest after a while. I know I digress from the topic, but technology is moving us away from actual books and I’m mourning the loss. Just wondering if I’m the only one.

HMMMmmmmm you naughty girl. Get back over here and read it again woman! LOL

The stories are all short novellas for the most part so you won’t have trouble with eye strain at all reading them on the screen. Plus the kindle computer reader is really nice.

‘Book’ & ‘Free’ in the same sentence - woohoo! I’m there!

Must admit this will be my first go with e-reading up until now I’ve been a tried and true print advocate. My thought is that won’t change for full length books, but for a quick read I’m willing to give it a try.

Thanks much for the opportunity to do it without having to pay first. :)
