The Pirate’s Possession - Tru is a lady of noble blood, Ewan is a privateer. Both are on the run from London but neither of them realizes what they have gotten themselves into.

This short tale by Juliet Burns carries all the components of a great historical romance, packed into a small 70 pages. Tru and Ewan are both very endearing characters. Their passion is steaming hot and vivid while holding onto the soft flowing wordings that seem to fit with that era. I normally don’t get into pirate stories, but this one was a really enjoyable read. Though I did find that as I read, the voice in my head kept taking on an Irish accent. But I canna see that as a bad thin. Smile

Seducing Serena - When a young business woman places an ad in the personal section of the paper, she gets more than she bargained for with one of the “applicants” she interviews.

Serena has been hurt before. Like many successful women she has had her heart broken by men and she’s scared. Of course, she is stubborn, too, so that makes the story more complicated as well. Nick started out writing an article for the newspaper on the type of women who take out personal ads, and he found so much more than he expected in the cool and beautiful Serena. I really enjoyed this story. The main characters, Serena and Nick, are well developed and believable. The emotions and turmoil that they face seems to flow off the page. The story is well written and, though there are a number of events in the story, it does not have a cluttered or overwritten feel. Both Serena and Nick are easy to relate t,o and anyone who has experienced or even dreamt of “love at first sight” will definitely see and understand the depth of the story and their relationship. The erotic scenes, though not overly graphic per say, are well written and passionate with a natural flow that enhanced the story well. I am impressed by Ms. Lynne’s talent in the portrayal of this deep romance and I look forward to reading more of her work.

Mind Games - When you are raised in a loveless household, can you recognize love when it finds you?

Jade’s life has been cold and rough but that has made her stronger than she realizes, and when Damien finds her, that strength is brought out in amazing ways. All Damien wanted was his partner; what he got was so very much more.

Kathleen Scott has combined a fantastic mix of futuristic technology, mental powers and red hot romance into a fantastic future. I will definitely be hunting down the story about Damien’s parents. Her characters are realistic - combine that with vivid erotica and a fantastic story and you have a definite winner.

Kiss Me At Midnight - True love is a rare and wonderful thing; for Callie and Marc, it is something that is lurking just below the surface of their lives. Callie is a strong, independent, career-minded woman who is determined to make it to New York and a network job. Marc is a playboy who appears at first glance to care about nothing but himself. This odd couple works together on a local late night talk show, and in a sweeps week stunt they realize that there is more than on screen animosity between them.

I loved this story. It was fun, realistic and super hot. The erotic scenes are steamy and will get the attention of all the right places. The banter and interaction between Callie and Marc is so very realistic and funny that reading this short story was a blast. I am thoroughly impressed. I don’t normally lean toward contemporary stories, but this one was endearing, fun and hot. A definite great read for me.

Four stories, four different genres, four different authors, but one overall riding theme: love. This anthology shows the fantastic things you can accomplish when you place the right stories in a collection.
