Koran T, Captain of the Royal Elite Palace Guards, the highest rank any military waken could achieve, has a job to do. He must find Princess Kali at the Wing Academy, get her out of Ru-Noc and into the blasted Illumrof realm where the humans live. Then, he must take her to a vampire prince’s castle and keep her safe - at all costs. Looks simple enough, but looks can be deceiving, and Koran had no doubt when King Darak personally asked him to watch over Kali, it would be the most difficult assignment he would ever have to face.

Koran has always wanted Kali. Always. So he finds himself between the proverbial rock and hard place. King Darak’s order to guard Kali could not have come at the worst possible time - Beltane, the mating season for all witches and wakens. But even with the nearness of Kali calling him to just revel in Beltane as its peak draws closer, Koran knows he cannot touch her. He is a tainted u-null bred, and to make matters worse, once she found out who his father and mother are, she would never want to see him again.

Kali could hardly believe her parents sent the Captain to get her and whisk her away to a vampire’s castle of all places. What could possibly be going on at home that Koran is so strict about her safety as to take her own powers away from her? It is Beltane! It is time to celebrate! And if Koran will not enjoy Beltane with her, then she will find fun company elsewhere - like outside the castle walls. Besides, what possible trouble could she get into in the mortal realm?

There is definitely more at stake than just their own lives and situations as the plot against the Winslow Witches thickens. Ru-Noc is falling into shambles. The sound of civil war is drawing closer: brother verses brother; father verses son; blood against blood. Whether demon, vampire, witch or waken, the casualties will nonetheless be high.

This installment of the Winslow Witches of Salem will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. There is truly more to this story than meets the eye as surprise upon surprise is revealed bit by bit. It was as if I was watching the sequences in Witch’s Moon take place rather than just reading it. Of course, along with the visual came the frustration with the heroine when I knew she simply should not head in the direction she was aiming for because life would simply be better if she just stayed still. But then where would our story be without such adventure? Witch’s Moon not only keeps you interested but makes you want more books in the series.
