DEAD Hunter by Lizzie T. Leaf
Arie Annie (Arie) Hews has been trained by her father since she could remember to be a Dead Hunter who seeks out and destroys vampires. She carries a stake on her back and a knife on her leg. Arie always knows when they are near by a tickle on the back of her neck.
Jonas Nickels is a doctor who works at a small clinic and sometimes at the local ER. He is a blond god with blue eyes. He is also a vampire just trying to live his vampire life.
Arie is out on patrol one day when she comes across a family at the park. She feels the tingles on the back of her neck so she decides to stay and protect them. Arie introduces herself to the pregnant mother on the bench and finds out her name is Dovey. Her friend, BJ, is playing with her daughter, Kiera, on the swings. The three ladies decide to go for an ice cream when Dovey goes into labor. Their next stop instead is a clinic. Jonas is Dovey’s doctor and friend. Arie and Jonas are attracted to each other from the moment they meet at the clinic. Jonas has promised himself never to fall for a mortal, but Arie tempts him more than he can remember. What will Arie do when she finds out what Jonas is? She has to stake him not date him. What will Jonas think when he finds out what her job is?
Dead Hunter by Lizzie T. Leaf is the third book in the series Dead Done Right. I didn’t read the first two books but I believe this can be a stand alone. Lizzie catches you up on the story, and you are able to meet all of the characters from the first two books. The set of characters in this book range from a rat boy to Beelzebub himself and each have their own unique personality. The humor runs through the entire book and I found myself laughing at nearly every page. Who knew that PMS could also be used as a weapon? Lizzie and Arie do.
