Please come by our Twilight Community on The Blood Bank here:http://bittenbybooks.ning.com/group/twilight to continue your discussions of the books and movie. It is a fun group!

So, there are only a few scant hours left before the epic event of the year happens. Twilight the movie opens in movie around the country at 12:01 a.m.! Get your tickets and other groovy stuff here from the official movie website: http://www.twilightthemovie.com/ Apparently if you buy your tickets online you get a free Itunes remix (whatever that may do for ya lol).

We thought it would be fun to share in some of the Twilight mania that is sweeping the globe with you. Be sure to put on your Twilight Soundtrack while reading this post, and if you don’t have yours you don’t even have to wait there is always the Twilight MP3 version available for immediate download. Suuuhweeet! So, sit back grab a bottle of True Blood crank up the tunes and enjoy! Feel free to post this contest and info on all the Twilight Forums/groups you can find!

What fun is a BIG vampire movie release based on our all time favorite type of book series without a contest? Don’t answer that just hang out and see what I am putting together for you. I am offering up a complete hard cover boxed set of the The Twilight Saga for your reading enjoyment.

Yep! It is true, one lucky winner will be able to enjoy the WHOLE shebang just by joining in on the fun. Sorry the contest is only open to US residents this time. Details on the contest and how to enter will be below. This cool box to your left is what the set comes in!

We did something today that we never do here at Bitten by Books. We posted multiple reviews of a book. We typically don’t ever offer multiple reviews of a book here on the site, but we decided to break the rules and do it for Breaking Dawn the fourth and final installment in the The Twilight Saga. You will get to see the different opinions of this book from several of our reviewers and you can leave your responses in their reviews in kind. It was very interesting to me to see just how different these reviewers felt about this book. A few of them have spoilers in them which is another thing we don’t usually do, but they are marked in case you are still a Breaking Dawn virgin. ;) Check them out here:
Virginia’s Review
Sarai’s Review
Shirley’s Review
Lyda’s Review

You can read all the other reviews of Stephenie Meyer’s work here including the rest of the series and The Host by clicking here.

So, apparently besides the books which you can get in just about any format now (except paperback) there are about 8 billion other fan related items available that I didn’t know about LOL. I have seen several teenage girls walking around with strange men plastered on their persons and wondered about them. I now know where the faces come from. Here’s a shining example of a shirt you could own from the Amazon Twilight Store
(of course there’s a whole store dedicated to the books). If you click on the pictures you can get all the info on the products and pick up some for your very own (hint this will help you get an entry into the contest).

Is it just me, or do you find it semi-disturbing that his eyeballs are right on your boobs when you wear this shirt? If and this is a big if, I were to get a shirt, it would be of the whole cast! Because what could be better than one set of eyes on chest? Well a whole crew of them! LOL

So, how many of you have your Twilight gear on and are ready for the movie tonight? I know many thousands are very disappointed in the fact that the family jewels were not available for the premier. Very poor timing on Amazon’s part if I do say so myself. Hmm I wonder if the Cullen family realizes there “family jewels” are up for grabs on Amazon as an exclusive prize? he he he Never fear these beauties are on pre-order and should start shipping to get to you or your loved one in time for Yule.

All joking aside, this would be a pretty cool gift for that Twilight fanatic that has everything. Those who were pre-planning for tonights big event probably already have one of the few items that are still in stock on their person. Yes, it is the chic and surreal replica of Edward’s wrist cuff.

I don’t really find myself drawn to it, but to each their own. You could go for something more subtle like the pins (and less expensive).

What I would like for Yule is the complete unabridged set of CD’s that you can get as an entire set. Come on, I can wish can’t I? Seriously, this would be something I would really dig over any of the other stuff. It is pretty pricey, but all in all it is less than buying them one at a time. Get all the pain out of the way in one shot I always say.

You get the entire series read to you. Great for those with long commutes or who have eye problems and audio books are your thing. Me, I am just lazy and like to be read to! LOL

Okay, I bet you are sick and tired of me going on about all this stuff and want to know what to do to get started on the contest. Do you wish Stephanie Meyer would have written the Twilight series geared more for adults with the content or do you feel that keeping it ‘mild’ was the right move?

  5. Comment by Sarah Outlaw — November 20, 2008 @ 3:07 pm

Danielle, my fav books were New Moon and Breaking Dawn.

  6. Comment by Cindy — November 20, 2008 @ 4:10 pm

alright so I admit I have not read the books yet but the good ole step daughter has and she says her fave is Eclipse…… I am keeping her out of school in the morning to take her to the movie tomorow… she is pretty excited about it, anyway from all that she has talked to me about it even though I have yet to read it.

I know many adults who have read the series too and enjoyed it alot, and yes they are going to see the movie too….
So there I said it I have yet to read them but am proud to say that my step daughter has them and waiting for the next one to come out with baited breath if only people stop spoiling it….

  7. Comment by Teresa D'Amario — November 20, 2008 @ 5:58 pm

I think keeping them at young adult level is a stroke of genius. By doing that, she doubles her entire reading market, just like Rowling did with Harry Potter. To me, Twilight (the only one I’ve read so far) was a young adult paranormal romance. I thought it was great, though I snickered now and then at the “young” behavior. Probably because I don’t read YA much.

I was at the book store and was going to buy #2, but wasn’t sure which WAS #2, so decided to wait and maybe order it from online or something. :)

Is anyone else waiting to see the Twilight movie before taking the plunge into the books?

  10. Comment by Rachel — November 20, 2008 @ 7:33 pm

I am Kizzy, believe it or not, I have them all in my storage unit somewhere. LOL So, I am doing something I rarely do, and watch the movie before reading the books. Should be interesting. I don’t know when we will go see it though. Not tonight! I have a killer cold. ugh

  11. Comment by Shirley — November 20, 2008 @ 7:54 pm

Sarah - I think the YA slant was critical to the storyline in the series. So many important things just wouldn’t have worked in an adult version and changing them would have totally changed the story, things like Bella’s infatuation with Edward, Bella’s family situation, the no sex before marriage thing. And Teresa’s right about the marketing angle - I wonder if that was part of Meyer’s reason? YA fiction of any sort is hot right now for established authors too.

Teresa - If you buy online thru Amazon, be sure to use the link on the right hand side of the BBB homepage. I’ve been brainwashed by Rachel!

Rachel I hope you get over your cold soon. It is also rare for me to watch the movie before reading the book. My plan is to watch Twilight Thanksgiving Day.

  14. Comment by Rachel — November 20, 2008 @ 8:36 pm

Thanks, I am actually going to lay back down again. I think seeing it on Turkey day is a GREAT idea…wonder if the theater here is open then…hmmm most of them are, but we are in the bible belt here. LOL I have no clue if it is different. The only showing they had up online was the one at 12:01 am tomorrow (friday).

    Have fun!

  15. Comment by Debbie Reed — November 20, 2008 @ 8:37 pm

  18. Comment by angie — November 20, 2008 @ 8:43 pm

I usually read the books before I see the movie. But this one may be different. I thought these books were over-rated but it seems like I may actually like the, the more I am reading about them.

I am going to tweet about this as soon as I leave here: pricousins.

I will also post a bulletin to myspace once the version for my mobile starts working!

    I am a subscriber.

    Thanks,

  19. Comment by Sarai — November 20, 2008 @ 8:48 pm

Was anyone else a little put off by the trailers and clips for the movie? the scenes looked alright, the dude they got to play Edward was pretty close to what I had imagined, but the monologue by the actress who plays Bella? could it have sounded more stilted and fake? Bella might not be my favorite character in the books, but she is very passionate and emotional (not to mention the central character for most the books) and at this point I’m hoping that her character in the movie isn’t as bad as it is portrayed in the trailer =/

Obviously I can’t go to the movies expecting a replica of the books, but the trailer put me off to the point I’m going to wait to see it till after I go to see Quantum of Solace and soak up some Daniel Craig =P

btw, no need to enter me in the contest, I’ve already got copies of all the books

  20. Comment by Liviania — November 20, 2008 @ 8:57 pm

My favorite of the books was Twilight; I actually couldn’t finish Breaking Dawn. I am going with a bunch of friends to see the movie this Saturday! (Or maybe tomorrow, depending on how things work out.) I’m really looking forward to it.

My best friend is now reading the first book in the Twilight series, I’m intersted in the book and would love the opportunity to win the set because from what she has said and from what I have read on here this book and the series is phenomenal! Too bad I’m stuck at home with my babies and missing out on the opportunity to see the movie but I’d rather read the books before seeing the flick as it is! :)

  28. Comment by Willow — November 20, 2008 @ 11:14 pm

    1. This series has by far become my favorite set of books to read. I’ve enjoyed other series’ before, but none have left me eager to completely start over from book one as soon as I finished book four. My favorite aspect of the series is probably Bella’s transformation. How she is better suited for her vampire life than she ever was in her human life.

Has anyone heard the soundtrack yet? I love it. Robert Pattinson does a couple of songs, he has a really nice voice. I think they did a very good job with the soundtrack.

  32. Comment by Molly Capel — November 21, 2008 @ 4:21 am

Just got home from seeing the movie tonight. IT was really good, & has me wanting to pull the first book back out & reread. lol They obviously had to leave some stuff off, and parts seemed to be rushed thru, but for the most part they did a good job. Can I just say that I totally & completely believe that Robert Pattinson is Edward? I think they did a realy good job with casting. My fave book is the first one. I’m already friends on Myspace & Facebook.

  33. Comment by Cate Masters — November 21, 2008 @ 6:28 am

I have not yet read the books, but ordered the first two yesterday from Amazon (very cheap at $6 each, I might add). I wanted to see what all the hype was about, although I admit the movie trailer and previews have already gotten me hooked. I think gearing it toward YA was smart on Stephenie’s part because it expands her audience. Adults can use their imagination for the rest!
I’ve already friended BBB on FB and Ning, btw.
Thanks for a great contest (as always).

Also, I liked the multiple review. I enjoyed the series- as an adult I think I started reading it with a different mind set then I do adult character paranormal.

My question to you all is when reading a YA book do you hold it to the same requirements as a adult fiction?

I think it is wonderful that books are being written that peak the interest of young people as well as adults. Stephenie Meyer had to walk a thin line between the two readerships, too much in one direction and she could have lost half her audience. While I wish there had been more “adult” scenes, I can understand why she kept it PG-13. Great job!

What I would like for Yule (other then some steak tartar) is The Twilight Boxed set. I haven’t read any of these books so I can’t understand all the hoop de doo. If I were younger and single I wouldn’t mind that boy’s eyes on my chest. And I’m not talking t-shirt. *snicker* And speaking of “family jewels” I’ve got more in my face and body then this franchise ever hopes to have. *another snicker* OK, so since you woke me for this fabulous contest I shared it on TiaBangs@yahoogroups.com. I asked other people to say I sent them but they won’t. Hmm. fresh meat! I also haven’t heard from anyone in the BBB community lately. It’s so lonely being a creature of the night. BoofnHoo.
Here’s a question for all you bloodsuckers. Have you read these books and what’s with all the fa la la la la la la la la???!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oooo! Marnie asked a question. My answer is NO.

A young neighbor/friend - a very, very intelligent 15 year old, shares the same name as the author and is naturally fascinated by the book series and the upcoming film. This would be a fantastic gift for her.

  54. Comment by Laura — November 21, 2008 @ 8:53 am

I saw Twilight last night and for those of you who have seen the movie, how do you think it compares to the book and do the characters compare to what you imagined they looked like, how they acted, and do you think they picked the best Bella/Edward they could’ve?

  55. Comment by Vicky Cormier — November 21, 2008 @ 8:53 am

I read all 4 books and thought it was the best reading I have done in quite a while. I am not one to rush out to buy a book just it comes out. I usually wait a while so I don’t have to stand in line but this was different. It truly was a great story. Also, everyone here at my office has read it also. It was a group read. Really loved the series.

  86. Comment by Deidre — November 21, 2008 @ 6:54 pm

It seems that while lots of people are somewhat disappointed in the final installment of Twilight, they are still satisfied with the ending, as am I.
The thing about an ending is that anything goes and often does. I agree that the tone and whole feeling changes in the fourth book, but that is to be expected as well.
One thing I’ll say for sure is that I fell in love with the series and will never forget it.

Hi there! I hope I’m not too late to play! So far I’ve only had a chance to read the first book in the series, but I’d love to win this boxed set! I have posted about it on facebook!

  88. Comment by Kimberly B. — November 21, 2008 @ 7:19 pm

Oops, just read the instructions more thoroughly, and I’ve got over two weeks to play here. Woo hoo!
I must admit, I hate going to see movies the first weekend they’re out because I don’t like crowds (especially for popular movies like this will be), but I’ve heard of people who were dressing up or at least making themselves up (all sparkly, lol) for the opening weekend of Twilight. That sounds really fun to me! Anyone wearing anything special to go see this film? I don’t know about the sparkly part, but my skin could easily feel icy cold like a vampires; it’s only 19 degrees F in Minneapolis today!

  89. Comment by Sierra Martin — November 21, 2008 @ 7:44 pm

I have to admit, I haven’t read the books (why this giveaway is so enticing.) My mom went out with a bunch of friends to see the movie today (she’s read all the books).. pretty sad when your 60 year old mom is “in” on something before you are, but I digress.. I want in!

Kimberly B.~ I live about 3 hours north of you and BRRRR! is it cold here too!

    Here’s another question for everyone…

Who is your favorite character out of the book… BESIDES Bella or Edward?

    Mine is Jacob.

Mine is Alice—this is just going from the first book, though!

  93. Comment by Lori T — November 21, 2008 @ 8:55 pm

Ok, my question is…has anyone seen the movie yet and if so did you read the book prior to seeing the movie? After seeing the movie what are your thoughts on how the characters were portrayed? Did they meet the image that you had in your mind while reading the books?

  96. Comment by Heather S — November 22, 2008 @ 7:50 am

I have heard really good things about the Twilight series. I am not a big love story type person. Does the book have alot of action and adventure too? or is it more of a love story only?

  97. Comment by Gayle — November 22, 2008 @ 8:11 am

If Bella went to your school would you let her sit at your table at lunch? Would you try to sit with the Cullens? Was/is your table the “popular” one? How important is the lunch room pecking order?

  98. Comment by Carol G — November 22, 2008 @ 8:46 am

I hadn’t even heard of the books before I recently saw the author on a morning TV show. Now they (and the movie) are all over everything, so guess I need to find out some more about them. Therefore, winning the set would be great. Will probably wait to see the movie, don’t go out to theaters very much anymore.

I saw the movie and I liked it. It was very close to the book. My husband went with me . His biggest complaint was he didn’t like the actress who played Bella. He said she was too whiney. Oh yeah and not enough fight scenes. I commented on the reviews by Sarai, Virginia,Shirley . I was going to post on the last review as well but my computer is possessed at the moment. Maybe I’ll be able to do it later. I also forgot to put my email address on my previous post.

  106. Comment by Donna — November 22, 2008 @ 7:43 pm

I loved the books. A huge part of what pulled me in was Bella. There is something in Bella that I think is in all of us. Whether its because she is an outsider in a new place, not drop dead gorgeous, not very coordinated or one of the many other things you can see in her character that draw you in, there is at least one thing there that you can relate to.

I enjoyed the movie too. There were some casting I still didnt like and some things I would have changed but it was actually pretty good. I was worried that it would be awful after how good the books are. The books though are still better.

Bloody hell! We’re nowhere near 500 comments.
I’ve shaved my armpits and taken out the garbage. Do I get points for that? And I left the comfort of my beautiful coffin for this! I’m going back to bed. Will someone let me know when we hit 500? I have a question for everyone. I asked it already in an author’s post here at BBB but I want to know if anyone has ever had a sip or two of human blood?

I read it in a day and a half and am now hooked and wanting to read the rest because if they are anywhere near close to the first one I know I’ll thoroughly enjoy them.

BBB you say start a conversation but nobody answers questions. They’re too busy groveling. Though I will answer kizzy. I doubt it has the staying power. Hmmm…that’s 2 questions I’ve answered. Danielle ~ My favorite book in the Twilight series is the one that hasn’t come out yet.

Sarah Outlaw ~ I think the Twilight series is perfect for the YA, mostly because it reaches the biggest book and movie audience possible, which is the main reason Twilight cremated Bolt this weekend. After all how much Bolt fluff can you take?

Lori Barnes ~ That is a wonderful birthday bash and very cool. I hope you had a good time. My two responses for any backlash about children reading books are:
What has your child been reading?
I am proud my child is reading.

MarnieColette ~ I hold YA books up to a different standard, mainly because I can’t reasonably expect them to be as complex as the adult fiction.

Gayle ~ If I was still in high school; Yes I would allow Bella to sit at my table. My table is for the ones who are just trying to survive High School; the misfit, loners and the social outcasts. Yes their will always a fun lunch room pecking order and it is fun to watch.

catslady ~ there are 4 books Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Stephenie Meyer also has an adult book titled The Host out and if you are going to order them online thru Amazon please use the Bitten by Books Store. These contests don’t come cheap.

Cindy Phillips ~ Yes Summit Entertainment studio is moving forward with production of New Moon. The studio has yet to assign a director, no director means no filming. It is only a matter of time until everything is dotted crossed and filming begins.

My daughter is obsessed with this Twilight stuff! She read the first book in two days and I told her I wish she would put that much effort into her school books as she did Twilight :) Anyone else have a daughter obsessed too?

So far, I’ve read only the first book in the series, and though I thought it was okay, I wasn’t crazy about it; there are plenty of other series I like a lot better. So I’m hoping that once I read the next three books, I’ll really fall into it and understand what everyone is going so ga ga over! LOL

    Anyway, my contest entries…

As always, Bitten by Books is in my permanent blogroll at http://books.cheriepie.com. (See the sidebar great review sites.)

While I wasn’t exactly crazy about ‘Breaking Dawn’, I still love all the books and enjoyed the movie.Though I freely admit that I didn’t like what the director did with it. How many montages and wide swinging camera angles does one movie need? Even so, I’ve already seen it three times. :P

  153. Comment by Paula Greenspan — November 26, 2008 @ 11:46 am

I haven’t read these yet, and haven’t seen the movie. I rarely pay full price for movies, so will probably see it in the 2nd-run theater for $2 or rent it on video.

It’s nice to see a popular paranormal vampire story in teen fiction. It should bring more people into the audience, thus assuring a larger market and more good books to come for both teens and adults.

  154. Comment by Paula Greenspan — November 26, 2008 @ 11:47 am

Oh, and aside from a drop or two of my own if I’ve been cut and stuck my finger into my mouth instinctively, I haven’t and don’t desire to drink blood. Yuck.

I’ve just learned about Twilight from the release of the new movie. Had never heard of the books. What I am struck by is the culture of death we seem to have in this country. We’re afraid of death yet fascinated by it. We have gone more towards the dark side of life rather than toward the light.

I am not much of a movie goer so I will definitely wait until it hits the Movie channels in a few months. I would love to at least read the first book before seeing the movie. So far this set of books is the only item on my Christmas wish list!

What is up with the shimmery glittery vampire crap that was in the movie… Is that really in the book???? Come on last I heard daylight is not exactly healthy for a vamp….

    Cindy,
I know what you mean my daughter is 12 and her whole middle school is totally obsessed with Twilight. She has only read the first book and just started on the second one. She saw the movie with her friends the night it opened and that is all she has talked about. She is driving her 13 year old brother nad I crazy with it :)
    Tamara B.

  167. Comment by Rachel — November 29, 2008 @ 10:42 am

Yep, they sparkle like diamonds. LOL we finally went and saw it last night, it was packed. Since I haven’t read the books, I wasn’t totally sure what to expect as far as the storyline. It was a little goofy in places, but it was a pretty good show.

My 16 y/o son liked it and said he was going to recommend it to his friends. He even learned a core life lesson from it, which he came out and told on his own. I was proud that he saw that lesson and understood it. That was probably the best part of the show. ;)

The other thing, it made me homesick somewhat because we are from WA. I have been to forks and La Push so many times. So many memories are associated with the beach there at La Push.

I sure miss my mountains. :( and water. LOL

So, I say give it a shot. It wasn’t terrible, it was good/average. I am interested to see how the rest of the movies play out.

  168. Comment by Paula Greenspan — November 29, 2008 @ 12:18 pm

    > Come on last I heard daylight is not exactly healthy for a vamp

Actually the old folktales about vampires, as well as the original Dracula book and film, had nothing about vampires needing darkness. That was introduced in later vampire movies & tales. Various current fiction ignores parts of the popular vampire lore according to the author’s and story’s needs - garlic, crosses, darkness, etc.

I also added you as a MySpace friend
    http://www.myspace.com/stampinwithjan
and joined the BBB community and will post a start of a blog in a few minutes..
    Now. onto stimulating conversation.
I do not travel for the holidays. All of my family is close by thankfully.. When I do travel however my coffin stays home.. I have a custom body bag.. fur and dingle balls on the inside!! *wink*
Twilight the movie.. I love the books.. I liked the movie.. It was actually a good movie but the actors I had a bit of an issue with.. Almost over acting.. I don’t care who was cast it still would not add up to what I have in my head. That is why I have 3 book cases full and only a handful of DVD’s.. I like to make my own mind up with help from great authors.. I prefer to read a book and have the images in my head then be shown what they look like.. make sense? IDK.. it does to me..
The sparkling skin though.. that is what I liked about Stephenie Meyers vamps.. They were not much like any other vamps I had heard of before.. I love that every series and character has thier own traits.. Hott vamps with shiny teeth and gojus eyes as opposed to dripping fangs and greasy hair.. wide shoulders as opposed to skinny yucky slimy beasts! lol

I’ve never read the Twilight series…scratch that, I’ve read the twelve chapters of Midnight Sun and I kind of like Edward. Even though he watches Bella while she sleeps, it’s a tad creepy and yet I still want to learn more about him. Since I’ve never read the books, does he ever mention that he watches Bella while she sleeps in the series?

    Thanks

I’ve left a link of this giveaway at my blog as well. Good luck to everyone!

  182. Comment by Amy Lutz — December 1, 2008 @ 4:06 pm

How many of you would choose undeath if given the choice?

I’ve been into vampires since I was little. My mom somehow never minded me watching movies and reading books about them, the only book she banned from the house was To Kill a Mockingbird. Go figure, could’ve learned a lot about the world from that.

I’ve vacillated over my initial question for years now. I’m already a night person so the lack of sun wouldn’t bother me, especially as I can get pretty blinding migraines when I’m out in it too long. And I like my pale look. I have a toddler now though, and wouldn’t want to deprive him of the sun, playmates and daytime activities…

  183. Comment by Sierra Wolfe — December 1, 2008 @ 4:15 pm

My daughter and I went to see the movie opening night at 12:01 am. We bought our tickets in advance and still had to wait outside in the cold for nearly an hour. We had a good time, though, so it was worth it. It made it a memorable experience. She’s already begging to go see it again, LOL.

Amy - How many of you would choose undeath if given the choice?

I don’t know if I would. I like the idea of staying alive and watching people grow and seeing what the future has in store, but at the same time I think I’d like to die. Living forever would get boring after awhile.

I picked up her other story The Host the other day but have yet to start it. Has anyone here read that one?
Also if you had to pick a charater other than Edward and/or Bella to be your favorite character who would it be?
I like Jacob, he reminds me of a lot of guys I knew when I was a teen. Well except for the supernatural part.

Alright you two enough with the sappy vampire carols…. Or I will bring out ruldolph the road kill reindeer
oh crap never mind I am so not gonna embarrass myself right now….. My step daughter and even her new boyfriend and over half the school is in twilight fever….. She begged me to buy it the minute it hits DVD and took her to go see it 2 more times….. The first time this really hot (yes I am married not dead) soldier was sitting in front of us and well I kinda missed a few key parts of the movie…. Sue me the hubby playing in the sandbox for a year.
As for if I had a choice to become undead…. I think in a hot minute I would. I think that I would make a Killer Vamp since I have a cutting personality anyway…. at least that is what all my army wife friends tell me. And besides being an Army Wife myself I get stationed in the 7 Pits of Hell and been kicked out, Fort Hood, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Fort Bliss, oh and yeah the biggest one of all the place I am stuck in right now,
Fort Riley Kansas…… and yess ToTo the wind does always blow….. Right now they saying lots of snow and really cold weather.

How many are going to see the movie more than once at the movie theater?

I haven’t read the books yet. But all my students are crazy about it. I would like to see what the fuss is about. Many kids missed school the day after the premiere here.

How many missed the day after the premiere? or the day of?

It premiered here at midnight so alot of kids missed the next day.

Glad so many of you enjoyed the series. If I don’t win I’ll have to get the books and see how good they are.

My oldest daughter loves the Twilight series! She really wants to see the movie.
We have some theater gift cards to use up, she had 2 chances to go w/friends but first time it wasn’t playing for a few hours so they decided to see another movie. 2nd time the theater they went to didn’t have it.

I have been the consumate vamp move buff since I was 13 living in Cape Cod watching Dark Shadows, taking a film school elective and seeing Bela Lagosi in all the silent films. I have exhausted Ann Rice and her series. I would love these. THanks for the contest.

I enjoyed “The Host” by Stephenie Meyer. I haven’t read the twilight series as of yet.I am planning on reading it along with my dd who walking among the “living dead” on a daily basis–she is in middle school!I think it will be a great way for us to stay connected.

I loved the books and the movie. Now if only I could find MY Edward!

  233. Comment by Monica W. — December 6, 2008 @ 12:21 am

Okay, I just finished Breaking Dawn and all I keep saying to myself was ‘what in the world’. I think my favorite book is Twilight. The others are okay.

The movie was a little lacking. Some of the characters looked how I pictured, such as Alice but others seemed better in my head -Edward.

I haven’t read any of them yet and I’m dying to do so but I’ve heard many people say they did not like the last in the series that much at all. I asked my niece who read all of them about that and she said that one was her very favorite of all. Go figure.

  237. Comment by Terre Neesham — December 6, 2008 @ 9:05 am

I turned my step-daughter on to these books when she was over for a vacation. She had to stand in line and be there the very first hour that Twilight came out. Now that I have read Twilight I am not sure it was perfect for her age and I might have turned her on to books that were too mature for her. But she loves the books and she is seriously bitten by books because she loves to read so much. I think in the long run I made a good choice, and I hope her Mother agrees. This would be a great gift for her, and thanks again for such a great contest.

  238. Comment by Joseph Perozzi — December 6, 2008 @ 11:16 am

After J.K Rowling, is their a woman on Earth who can match the popularity of Stephanie Meyer’s “Twilight” right now? I think not!

Wich book is the best out of the series?

  244. Comment by Kim H. — December 6, 2008 @ 3:09 pm

What I really liked about these books was that they take relationships seriously, even if they are only teens.

I guess I’m tired of all the wild sex in the more recent vampire books and finally this series is more in tune with the characters and how they deal with life.

Anyone else tired of the genre going towards the lurid side?

My oldest daughter started the series first and then asked me to read them. I reluctantly did, but I soon found myself engrossed. Now my youngest daughter has started the series. We all loved the movie, especially the girls who thought most of the characters were “hot”, but personally I liked reading the books better.

  252. Comment by julieh — December 6, 2008 @ 8:30 pm

I have read all 4 of the Twilight books, and I enjoyed them. My favorite was the first book, there was just something about the obsessive love in that book that obsessed me! I think we all dream of our own Edward, an impossibly beautiful boy who falls in love with us (even though we are nothing special) because he sees something in us that attracts him like a magnet. Still waiting for my own Edward, but I haven’t given up yet!

I read the reviews I guess I post here. Lots of different views of the series and the last book seems to let people down the most. I have never read the books put now I am interested in reading them.

  257. Comment by dani — December 7, 2008 @ 10:26 am

I taught in a middle school this fall and all the girls were holding one of the books. The high school did a grant and had a book club. It was interesting to hear from all the kids why they loved the book. I am afraid to read it because of all the hype I will be disappointed. I wish I read the books when they first came out.

  258. Comment by Nannette Ryan — December 7, 2008 @ 11:52 am

I have not had a chance to read the books but I would love the opportunity to do so

  259. Comment by Heather — December 7, 2008 @ 12:54 pm

Someone above asked which one was our favorite…It’s hard to choose my favorite, but I’d have to go with Twilight! It’s the one that got me hooked, introduced us to Bella and Edward (aka the cutest couple ever!), and made me obsessed with this series…lol! Everyone I know is obsessed as well so I know I’m definitely not the only one. This whole series is addicting! I re-read a couple of the books–they’re that good! :)

  260. Comment by Amy — December 7, 2008 @ 1:10 pm

I have yet to read these books, but I’m certainly really interested in reading the series! I watched the movie with a few friends who were fans of the books beforehand, and I loved the movie! Every moment of the movie held my interest. It was amazing! They always say that a movie is never as good as the book and I thought the movie was great so I can’t imagine how wonderful the books are! I look forward to reading them one of these days!

I think at this point, go see the movie and read the books when you have time. They are usually beter than the movie anyway.
