Tales from the Graveyard Shift: Ghouls by Kacey Smith
In an alternate world where magic is everyday stuff and vampires, elves, witches, werewolves, psychics and other paranormal creatures roam the streets, Crystal LaFarge is the lead investigator for the State’s Paranormal Investigative Team (un-affectionately known as SPIT and PIT for short). Being called to the site of a possible zombie raising is not totally out of the norm for Crystal, but then again not run of the mill either. Having the man she wants to have in the worst way ask her to go out for coffee with him for the first time since their not-so-hot first date, however, is out of the ordinary.
Captain Brian T. Booker, childhood acquaintance and colleague, has a problem. His twin sister Diana has been hanging out at The Enchantress Club and he swears something strange is going on there. The club is run by a level eight mage named Lothar who doesn’t seem to be breaking any laws, but is definitely doing something to the people who go there. Enter Ulrich, level eight mage, who has been authorized to confiscate Lothar’s power and is willing to help Brian take him down. Though Ulrich has given his word not to play with Brian’s thoughts, he suggests that Brian bring a psychic for his reassurance. Crystal just happens to be the most powerful psychic Brian knows (she’s a level five) and he asks her along for the meeting.
Attraction soars between them and through several Brian-inspired visions, Crystal discovers something she had never known about him - he was into ménage a trios. Crystal is an augment and Brian is a catalyst. That combined with Ulrich’s level eight mage causes the three to form an extremely powerful magical and sexual triad.
This book is Hot with a capital H, and if you are put off by threesomes, then this is not the story for you. However, hot sex aside, this story is very well written and I can’t wait to see what Kacey Smith comes up with next for these three.

Wow! Great review, Sarai! This sounds intriguing. You say there are going to be more in this series? Very nice! I love to read series.

Is she going to expound on the characters in more books? That would be cool. I can’t wait to pick up a copy to read.

No conformation about future books (this one hasn‘t even been published, lol), however, the ending is rather provocative and begs for a sequel or even better series about the three main characters. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking, but I really do think this will go beyond one story
