I plan to be there. My favorite book is “Obsidian Butterfly”. It was the first book I read and I could not stop until I had read all of the books that came before it and of course since that time, I have read everything else including “Skin Trade”. Although I must admit I periodically pull out “Blue Moon” and read it again….

  66. Comment by Cindy — February 11, 2010 @ 6:07 pm

I wish I was sending an rsvp but I have to work, but I want Laurell know that I love the worlds she’s created and to thank her for sharing them with us. Eash book in both series sucks me in, I actually get stomach aches when reading them. I love both Anita and Merry and hope like hell both are around for a long long long time. I just finished Flirt and loved it. It was great to have Micah, Nathaniel and Jason back on the scene but damn it I need some Jean Claude and Asher. Thanks Laurell for giving us story to tie us over until Bullet.

  67. Comment by Beverly G — February 11, 2010 @ 6:18 pm

  68. Comment by Nancy Gilliland — February 11, 2010 @ 6:31 pm

I’ll be there-for sure! It is a work holiday for me, so I’m home all day. I got to meet Laurell at the release of Skin Trade last June and she is terrific. I am anxiously awaiting the delivery of Flirt (Amazon is taking forever)

  69. Comment by Jen — February 11, 2010 @ 6:32 pm

  75. Comment by Debbie Parsons — February 11, 2010 @ 7:27 pm

RSVP - I guess I will have to take a half day from work for this, which is well worth it. I just read Blue Moon so it would have to be my favorite at this point. I still have a few to go in the series, so if I was asked later, my answer may change!

  76. Comment by Debbie Parsons — February 11, 2010 @ 7:30 pm

RSVP - Taking off work early and so well worth it. Life is way to short. My fave it Blue Moon, probably because I just finished it, now in a month or so when I have finished the rest my answer may change.

  77. Comment by Donna A — February 11, 2010 @ 7:32 pm

RSVP I’ll try to make it. If we get snow I’ll definitely be there. I love all the Anita & Merry books. If I don’t make it will somebody ask her how she can finish a book on Feb 12th and have it out on June 1st. That is some turn around.

Just placing my RSVP for the Laurell K. Hamilton chat and contest. While I have thoroughly enjoyed all the books, I believe my favorite would have to be Obsidian Butterfly. Getting to know Edward “behind the scenes” was both heart-warming and a tad creepy. Keep ‘em coming… I keep turning more and more people on to them!

  139. Comment by Rebecca Aust — February 12, 2010 @ 7:02 am

RSVP! My favorites are the first 10 books.Laurell K. Hamilton is a wonderful author.

  140. Comment by Lori Stimmel — February 12, 2010 @ 7:03 am

would not miss Laurell K Hamilton for anything. my favorite is which ever I’m reading at the time, I have a hard time picking just one. I think that Dance Macabre would have to be my favorite just because it is the one that got me started. It wasn’t the first I read, it was the one that introduced me to her books.

  141. Comment by Charity Messer — February 12, 2010 @ 7:26 am

RSVP! So hard to choose a favorite, I really did love The Killing Dance though.

    R.S.V.P.

I enjoy reading each and every one of Ms. Hamilton’s works as they bring something new and exciting to the table each time. My favorite would have to be Guilty Pleasures because that is what introduced the world to Anita Blake. Thank you for such wonderful stories.

  143. Comment by Anita Wiler — February 12, 2010 @ 7:28 am

I heard about this on Goodreads’ Urban Fantasy group. I love everything by LKH. I’m not sure why, but ever since LKH updated her website, her blogs have not been feeding through to Goodreads, so I don’t see them every week like I used too. I thought she was taking a vacation (much deserved)! So, LKH or staff, I hope you see this post and try to fix the feed. Thanks!

  166. Comment by Niki — February 12, 2010 @ 10:01 am

    RSPVing…I’ll be there!

My favorite Anita Blake story was Bloody Bones. Not only was it a great read but when I was very little my dad used to tell my sister and me this VERY scarey story about “Raw Head and Bloody Bones!” It’s been so long since I’ve heard it and so long since my dad has told it that neither one of us really remembers the entire story. All I can remember of the story was that a murderer was killed by Raw Head and Bloody Bones and all that the locals of the small mining comminity found of him afterward were some bloody bones in front of the church altar…

Sucks! Can’t be in the competition because I’m not from the US but will be there for the chat despite of time difference.

Really hard to say favorite book. Have re-read them so many times. But if I just pick from the criteria that I LOVE the personal scenes between Anita and Edward/Ted (just getting to know Edward more)- then Skin Trade, Obsidian Butterfly and The Harlequin are my top 3. If I had to chose from other criterias among many then my top 3 would be totally different because I like every book for different reasons. But in general they ARE also among the 8-10 books I’ve re-read the most.

  186. Comment by Yahaira H. — February 12, 2010 @ 11:59 am

RSVP!!! Although I have a meeting at 3pm, I think I may push it off a little bit! :) My favorite book… Hmmm… I can’t really pick one. It would have to be one of the earlier ones though, becasue I LOVE the homicide detective/ CSI action; however, I also am really into the developed relationship she has with Jean Claude now, so that may lead me to say one of the later books. I don’t know… I just love them all!

  199. Comment by Natalie S — February 12, 2010 @ 1:14 pm

I am torn by all the books, but my favorite would have to be The Killing Dance. Anita finally gives into her passion for Jean Claude, even though she is broken from seeing what Richard can do. It was worth the wait for the steamy scene.
