There are lots of characters in Scions: Revelation, book three of the Scions trilogy. Some are new and some are returning from Resurrection and from Insurrection, but this is Caine and Emma’s story. Caine Grennard is a werewolf whose pack thinks he is on the verge of going zerker. Emma Gray is a young woman who feels socially inept but devoted to the aunt who raised her.

When Emma is intrigued by the scent of a customer (who else but Caine?), she finds the courage to follow him into the nightclub across from the coffee shop where she works. They eventually discover there is electricity when they touch and Emma discovers a side of herself she did not even know existed, but fate seems to be against them. Even if they can overcome their differences as well as the animosity between their families, the prophecy stands between them. Their love and their loyalty to their families pull at your heart because they seem so right for each other. Your wish for their happy-ever-after will keep you glued to the pages until the end.

This story starts slowly but it picks up momentum when Emma disappears and it keeps rolling from there. Ms. Michelle’s narrative is noticeably more succinct with this third episode, which makes the action more suspenseful and the story more engrossing. I am hooked and will have to follow this one up with her novella Scions: Perception, which is Abby and Gabriel’s story. There are also a lot of other possibilities I hope Ms. Michelle pursues…maybe a follow-on about Mira and Talek?
