Grandaughter of the High Priestess, Witch Princess, Ava Valentine was tired of cleaning up other people’s messes, so when she takes out the garbage and is attacked by a demon, the last thing she would have thought to find was a werewolf protector.

Aaron Remington has taken a secret vow to protect the Princess from any harm and has been doing so for three years. At the bequest of her deceased parents, the pack leader has been following Ava and is quick to jump in and save her from the demon attack and any other danger that follows her.

Confused and wary of the reasons why the werewolf suddenly appeared to aid in the destruction of the demon, Ava brushes her questions aside when the two dive into a carnal escape from the day’s events. Another attack within the house brings everyone running to aid cousin Dina and her friend Paul, and Aaron’s agenda is once again under fire when Ava’s powers are thwarted and she faints. Finding out more about their connection relieves some of the suspicion, but when the attacks continue to coincide with Aaron’s movements, Ava must decide whether her heart or her head will win out. When faced with the betrayal that harms her coven’s future and their safety, Ava must look within herself to see the truth within her heart.

This short novella is the first in the Craft of the Wise series. I found it a sensual snippet of paranormal erotic romance that had a quirky edge that engaged the reader to quickly devour the tale. I am looking forward to the second installment in the series as I expect the chase to find answers will lead this ensemble to fulfilling more desires and fantasies.
