I have not read it either, so I am also then wondering if I should. Lately I have discovered that I do enjoyed Urban fantasy more than paranormal romance. I guess I need some good fights, but I also need a hint of loving

I’ve added this to my TBR list, but it is a very long list. Why should this move up on the list? What is it about the main characters that draw you to them?

Haven’t heard of the book or author and after reading the reviews still not sure if I would like it or not. The ones who didn’t like it REALLY didn’t like it and the ones who did were kinda lukewarm. So convince me someone, is it worth reading or not?

It’s a fabulous read everyone - Antoinette is a great character - not just kick-butt but also emotional too. And it is UF but there is romance in it too - a great balance

1.) How do you like Antoinette as a main character?

She freaking rocks. She is hard core but knows her limits on most levels.

2.) What is your favorite aspect of this novel?
The action and the freaking twists and turns. I never saw the big ones coming. AMAZING

3.) Do you have a favorite secondary character?
Yes, but I can’t say without giving anything away you will meet them towards the end.

RUN to get this book. Serioulsy one of my favorite reads in 2009.

Night’s Cold Kiss this is a terrific book. When I started reading I was conscious that Tracey O’Hara was debut author, but within a page I completely forgot this and was caught up in the plot. There’s a great balance of action, danger and character development, plus very clear and clever writing… and THEN add some wonderful plot twists, a bit of the hot and steamy, nasty terrors … *happy sigh*

Antoinette is a complex character, but thankfully not a caricature of so many UF heroines (you know, kick ass, stubborn, phobic, but must overcome hatred to win the day yada yada). Maybe it’s because the nightmare hasn’t finished for her?

And Dante - one creeeepy bad guy.

I admit I would have liked to get into the feelings of Christian a little more, but the stage is definitely set for this to happen in book two.

This was one of my top picks of 2009! Loved it!!!

Wow, this one sounds really fun. I’m a fan of UF, in addition to paranormal romance (well, duh. that’s why I’m here!) so this runs right up my flagpole. I love the excitement of getting into the work of debut novelists. It’s risky, but also thrilling - and it’s an amazing feeling when the books meets or exceeds your expectations.

This one is on my list - unfortunately, I have many ahead of it - but rest assured I’ll likely be reading it within the next year (or so). Sounds extreme, I know. But you haven’t seen the size of my list! O_o

    For today’s contest:
I voted for the P&E contest (confirmation sent as part of the Donna Grant contest already)
I participated in the Donna Grant contest (see above)
Voted for sexiest female paranormal character

I am happy to comment only as I have 2 copies of this book in print and have bought 2 copies as gifts so does that tell you if I like it or not?

It is different and the terminology used is new so I was taken by that aspect. It is a dark novel and the world includes open vampires or Aeternus among all the humans and other life forces so no hiding away from the ‘humans’ as some novels do.

Tracey breaks the rules of writing and thank God that someone can do that and succeed in a brilliant read. It makes the reading experience different and enthralling.

Antoinette is a strong character so pluses for that and yeah she is kickass!!!
Christian is one hot number indeed. I won’t spoil it for anyone but there is so much to involve the senses in this book.
Viktor I do love you as do so many who have read this novel.
Congrats Tracey on a great first novel and I cannot wait for the next one.

Lucky me got to judge Knight’s Cold Kiss in a writer’s competition. The first chapter rocked my world! With a kick-ass heroine — and you can’t help but be drawn in by her situation, and a sexy-as-heck dark hero — You can’t ignore the story. The book is fast-paced and a true thriller. The sex is sizzling hot. This is a page turner if ever there was one!

Tracey O’Hara’s debut novel is going to rock your world too!!

Dang, late again. I read this book awhile ago and loved it! It was so freaking amazing. I loved the heroine she was totally real and strong. Not a weak damsel in distress or anything.

My mind is really fuzzy on the details since it’s been awhile since I read it, but I remember it was a great read!

This is a cracking book. I have read very little urban fantasy before, just getting my feet wet, but if this isn’t a good example of the genre, I don’t know what would be. I’m no good at answering questions, so I’ll just shoot off some thoughts:

It drops you into the action and the world straight away, so people who like a book that hits the ground running will love this. Of course, that also means that some of the world is a little hazy at first, as you catch up with the terminology and so on, but I didn’t find it off-putting. And it does all become clear - she doesn’t leave any bits out to nag at you! And I liked the world-building very much. It is solid and well thought-out and you can tell that the author knows it inside out, which is what you need with fantasy.

There is plenty of action, of all kinds. Fighting, kissing (and a LOT more) by the bucket load. She has a hot imagination, if you know what I mean! Writes a good fight scene, too.

Some good surprises and enough keep-you-guessing depth in the characters to sustain the series which will doubtless follow. Good secondaries but not so many as too disturb the flow of the main ones.

In summary, an excellent debut and I think it will only get better. Lives up to that great cover!
