When Cassia, bound by magic to serve a seedy warlockb isn’t giving healing massages that can conquer illness, injury, and the effects of evil magic, she is serving tables and selling her flesh for his profit. When Magda, a former huntress of Artemis and now a werewolf queen, first encountered Cassia, she refused any services beyond healing, but it wasn’t long till Cassia captivated her thoughts. Now a frequent visitor when Pack duties aren’t stealing her away, she can only hope Cassia shares some of her feelings.

Short, simplistic, and sweet; fans of f/f romance and erotica will enjoy this story. I would have liked to have seen more depth in the characters, and everything came together a little too easily for my liking, but it was fun seeing how the familiar characters of Magda and Cassia got together in this brief story. Magda has been a minor feature in several of the Hot River series stories, and we met Cassia in “Noodlin’ for Nadine”. I would, however, read “The Huntress” first since “Noodlin’ for Nadine” seems to have been set after “The Huntress”.
