When a reviewer asks to read more of a series in a review, it is sometimes not a possibility, but I am very glad that I was privileged enough to read more of the Warriors that Ms. Lyons so brilliantly brought to life in Night Warriors.

This book takes place years after and revolves around Hunter and Erin, Jayde and Warrior Talon’s children. The book starts when Erin is a preteen and, yet again like her mother before her, a target for the last master beast, Lorian, to take as a mate. Stalking Erin after catching her scent, Lorian attacks and, in the battle, kills Corwyn Lord Hunter, the current Stone lord. It is Erin who finally tricks the beast and sends him to ground in the first of many battles to get to her that leaves her brother the new Lord. Erin, a Blutjadgdfrau like her mother before her, must be protected as a Stone Chosen although her destiny had not been as clear as her mother’s. The Konigs travel around, never calling one place their own year after year and descend upon Kord Maher and his boys where Erin finds a true friend in the young Warrior Curtis.

Kohl Kaufmann finds a young girl whose family had been attacked by a high-level beast and takes her home to live as his daughter. Sarah Kaufmann is a fighting sensitive who, when touched by the beasts, is in both physical and mental pain for days without her medication and cannot be touched by anyone. That is until she and her father, Kohl, step in to help Hunter battle 17 beasts and they find they have no meds available, but Hunter’s touch heals her, and she clings to him to fight the pain finding solace in his arms. As Hunter finds himself falling for Sarah despite her protests, Erin and Sarah find a connection between themselves as well.

Years pass as the family moves around while Erin is kept in training and paraded about to every Warrior available for printing while she avoids the Maher lands and Curt. She knows he only wants her as a friend and vows to not print with anyone, allowing Hunter and Sarah to provide new Warriors for the continuation of the family line. Finally descending on Maher lands, Erin and Curt begin something that overtakes them both, and misunderstandings are brought out in the open.

Lorian, after biding his time, descends on the families at a very deliberate time with hundreds of high and low level beasts at his side. As he finds the women and child alone, the battle rages around them, but it is destiny that proves to be the victor in this finish to end all.

This book was a pulse-pounding ride through the lives of two young siblings propelled to their own destinies. This book was full of action and adventure as Erin became not only a woman but a Warrior herself and Hunter proved his worth as not only a great Warrior but to the title of Lord that he filled so young. I liked this sequel just a bit more than the first as it allowed us to see the depth of the characters and emotions rather than just feel for the loses they sustained.
